Jamie´s view
It took me ages to get Sarena´s dinner because Tom, the cook, was too busy finding out who this mysterious girl was that I brought in yesterday from the forest. He was one of my best friends, and one of his worst characteristics was asking lots of questions. After reminding him for what felt like the millionth time to prepare, I gave in to his curiosity and started explaining who Sarena is while he made her food.
“ Sarena is a good friend from my childhood. She was my girlfriend at the time my duties called and I had to leave her form day to the next. It turns out that she is Sapree´s daughter and therefore destined to be our Coeli Salaturi. She is the only one that can stop the evil and I really do love her.”
“Wow man, respect. I remember that girl you talked about her when you first arrived here. I am glad you found each other again. Now here is her food. Enjoy!”
He shouted the last bit for I already was on the way back to our room climbing stair after stair. I was surprised by the silence that came from our room. Once I pushed open the door I found Sarena sleeping the rocking chair, restlessly tossing her head from side to side and knitting her eyebrows together in confusion. I hurriedly closed the door behind me and place the dish onto bedside table by the rocking chair. Sarena was now whimpering softly. Without a second thought I picked her up and placed her on my lap as I took her place in the rocking chair.
Almost immediately I could see what Sarena was dreaming. I could feel the confusion coming off her in vibes, slowly engulfing me as well and pulling me into her dream. I could only make out shadows and blurs of colour, but I recognised the voices around me; It was Sarena´s and her mother´s voice. The picture started to fade as I withdrew myself and placed Sarena under the covers which I had thrown back just a moment before. I placed a soft kiss unto her head before sliding out of the balcony doors into the cool night air to give Sarena and her mum the privacy they deserved. The sky was clear tonight, the moon was visible and millions of stars specked the sky as I stared up into the never-ending blackness. I sat in the chair that was tucked into a corner and drifted off into a peaceful slumber only to be awoken later by Sarena´s scream. I was at her side and pulled her into a comforting hug. The moment I touched her, the memory of her dream shot through me like a hot blade and pulled me in.
***Sarena´s dream *****
Sarena and her mother where standing on a clearing surrounded by dozens of trees. Both were dressed in a flowing white dress that sparkled in the sun. In the corner was some rock formations, a young man leaned against them watching the two women silently. I recognised him as being Sapree, our patron and Sarena´s father. Their voices filtered over towards me and I could the tears forming in Sarena´s eyes as her mother spoke .
“Now dear, you may not believe it but you truly are our child. We have been with you all along in Ocean´s Harmony and now you are here because your powers are staring to show. You would not have been safe so we had to take you here to develop your full powers. Please do not be upset dear, your dad and I tried so hard to keep you from coming to your powers, but even the strongest suppressing spells could not stop the inevitable from happening.”
Sarena had sunk to the ground and was engulfed in her mother´s hug while whispering comforting words.
“There is no need for you speak Sarena. You have to be strong now for the evil that has killed me is coming after you to. Learn how to control your powers to beat the dark force. I shall return you to the world of the living now. Talk to Jamie, he will help you find your powers.”
She placed a soft kiss on her daughter´s head as Sapree came over to say goodbye to her mother as well.
*** End of dream***
The scene started to blur and dissolve in my mind as I returned to our bedroom with shivering Sarena in my arms. I wrapped my arms tighter around her as I waited for her shivering to subside. Although we had little sleep we were now wide awake.
“As we are both wide awake now darling, we use this time for your first training lesson. As an angel you have power over all four elements. So let´s start with fire”
She nodded her head in excitement as her eyes started to glisten with joy.
