AN. A new Chapter? so soon? WHO IS HE?! enjoy everyoneeeeee

Adalaide sighed deeply behind her expensive mahogany desk, the plush leather desk chair she sat on felt uncomfortable due to her lack of movement. She needed a drink and some company, there was still two hours until Ebony's change had finished and from what Adalaide could hear from the turning room that it was a particularly bad turn, she had felt the walls shake slightly even from the other side of the house to the room. Sat on her desk next to her computer monitor is a small ornate bell. She rang it, a maid quickly came running to the front of the desk and bowed at the waist.

"You rang Miss Hemmingway?"

"I require a drink."

"Fresh Miss? Or would you like one of the older bottles from the basement."

Hemmingway mulled this over for a minute then decided on having it fresh. She would like the company, but she would never admit that.

"Fresh if you would."

"Of course, Miss Hemmingway" the maid then came around to where Adalaide was sitting and knelt in front of her, exposing her neck towards the ancient vampire. She grabbed the maid's neck with surprising gentleness, then quickly buried her head into the girl's neck, releasing a sharp gasp from her, which quickly went back to silence. Good thing too Adalaide hated it when they made a fuss. She drank till she was satisfied then pulled back, licked her thumb then swiped it over the wound which slowly started to knit itself together until there was no mark left to even indicate that the maid was bitten apart from her paled complexion, a power that Adalaide proud herself upon due to the small amount of vampires that could do this. She assumed it was due to age.

The help quickly thanked her then left, once again leaving Adalaide to her own devices and thoughts. All were swirling with thoughts about why she seemed to care about this human more than she cared about the others. She couldn't be developing feelings for her, could she? No of course not. Adalaide hadn't had a relationship in hundreds of years, lovers however she had had many. The fact that she was a woman meant nothing to a vampire, most vampires divert down the bisexual track fairly quickly after turning, getting bored of staying with the same gender after so many years. Adalaide had only ever slept with a handful of guys until she decided that she was in fact definitely a lesbian. Not to toot her own horn but she had gotten pretty good at pleasuring ladies if she did say so herself.

She was a serial lover not someone who wants a soulmate. God what was she even thinking, of course she was only caring about her so much because she is the chosen one. A weak fragile human who needs to be kept alive until she reaches the ultimate vampire apex predator. That was the reason. Right?

Adalaide quickly shook her head to clear her thoughts, a sharp ring of a bell piercing through the silence, Adalaide had spent so much time thinking that Ebony's transformation was over. She rose from her chair for the first time in hours and headed towards the turning chamber. The turning chamber was a room in her house that she was particularly proud of. The runes and spells she had cast on the door were complicated and had taken many failed attempts and several dead witches to get right but in the end it was worth it. Once that door was locked nothing could get in or out of the room.

Once finally reaching the room, Adalaide waved her hand in front of the door, symbols glowed, and a window materialised out of nowhere within the door. She glanced in and once again saw Ebony passed out on the floor. God, does this girl do nothing but faint? Pathetic. The rolled her eyes and opened the door, strutted over to where the girl was slumped and called her name a few times, when that was unsuccessful. Adalaide decided to give her a light kick. Nothing. So, she tried again.

"God sake Miss Winters will you wake up we have things to do." She kicked her, growing increasingly more impatient the more the girl ignored her.

"Ebony wake u-" as she sent a swift light kick towards her, a hand unexpectedly grabbed her on-coming foot with lightning fast speed then pulled. Hard. Adalide toppled, letting out a surprised yelp and soft "oof" as she hit the floor.

Slowly Ebony's head lifted up from its position, "I would prefer if you did not kick me Adalaide. There are more polite ways to wake someone up." The first thing that Adalaide noticed was that Ebony's once dazzling blue eyes had turned an ominous onyx colour. The next was the fact that Ebony's voice was deeper than it was originally, not too deep, but deep enough for people to notice. It radiated power. The mouth, when open, showed jagged fangs just like Adalaide's.

Adalaide smiled a small smile then brought her foot out of Ebony's hand. "I did a good job. You are already better as a vampire than you ever were as a human." She gracefully stood to her feet and dusted down her designer suit. Ebony slowly sat up, groaning with the effort.

"I feel like I've been hit by a truck then had my brain taken out and ran over by a train." She closed her eyes and put her head in her hands and grumbled.

"Oh do stop your dramatics Ebony. I tire of them already." Ebony opened her eyes, the iris' back to their original blue hue. She raised herself up to feet, stumbling only slightly before quickly supporting herself on the wall.

"Still as elegant as ever I see. Vampirism doesn't cure everything it seems." She said with a smug tone of voice.

"I'm too tired to argue with you on that point. If you could steer me in the general direction of my bedroom that would be highly appreciated, or if you would prefer taking me back home, I wouldn't complain."

"You cannot go home. And you cannot go and rest. There is too much to do."

Ebony's temper and patience was being pushed to her limits, "I have been kidnapped, bitten, physically changed and altered, had pain stronger than I am sure many people have suffered and had a brief conversation with what seemed to be future vampiric me. So if you don't mind Adalaide, I will be going to rest and you can't stop me."

With lightning fast speed, Adalaide grabbed the collars of Ebony's shirt (or what's left of them anyway) and pulled her so their faces were almost touching, Ebony's now undead heart was beating a mile a minute, not as fast and it would be if she was alive, and her face tried hard not to disclose how scared she was. Adalaide's face showed that of angry. Pure unadulterated anger. The words she uttered next seemed laced with venom. Poised and ready to attack Ebony.

"You will do as I say, and you may as why, so I'll tell you. I made you Ebony Winters, but I can break you just as quickly. Don't make me regret turning you. You will refer to me as Miss Hemmingway unless given permission. Is that understood. I demand respect from a low life, young punk arsehole with no manners like you! Is that understood?" Ebony nodded quickly "I said is that understood?" Hemmingway barked, Ebony's nod obviously not being enough for her. "Yes Miss Hemmingway I understand!" came the reply, quick and rushed, as to not anger the vampire further.

"Good." She dropped the girl, somehow managing to miss the fact that she had lifted her up into the air during her rant. "Now come. We have a lot to do and since you've wasted precious moments being a brat, its better if we get started right away" She strolled out the door, Ebony hobbled out after her, letting out a sigh of relief as she stepped out the room. She was free, well as free as she could be as a kidnapped vampire victim.
