Ebony said nothing, just gawped, unable to form a coherent sentence. The woman smiles, showing off more of her white teeth and canines "Cat got your tongue Miss Winters? I must say I'm not surprised; I suppose it does come to a bit of a shock when a beautiful woman, holding a severed head welcomed you home."
The utterance of her name bought her back to reality. Snapping at the woman she asks, "how do you know who I am?" Adaliade chuckles,
"Ebony Ebony Ebony. I know many things that you should not worry yourself with. This being one of them. Now shall we get on to the matter at hand?" without waiting for her reply Adaliade continues. "As to why I'm standing in your house because there is a prophecy that was foretold, oh a few hundred years ago now, that states 'come the nightfall of the blackened moon, a human who walked earth for eighteen sun rotations yet born in the day of darkness, shall be used and awakened to potential greater than those who stand with and against them, their aura a fiery red yet black as night for they will lead the vampire kind to victory.'" She pauses and looks at Ebony, who manages to stand on her shaky legs and straightens up to her full height, and in a strangely calm voice questions "What does that mean for me? Why are you here?" Adalaide rolled her eyes "it means" drawing out the last word like she was talking to an idiot "that on the night of the eclipse of the moon, which is tonight, if you haven't noticed, a person who is eighteen years old and was born on a solar eclipse will be bitten and be awaken to the vampire world as one of the most powerful vampires to walk the earth and bring the humans to their knees in their surrender. And that lucky lucky human is you Miss Winters."
