The next morning was devoted to washing the plates and cleaning out the roof, where there were still the remains of Louis' birthday party. Pippin trailed behind me, helping us clean up the food that had fallen onto the floor the other night. He was quite efficient. In the afternoon, Zayn was meeting up with Ashlyn, and since he didn't want the boys to suspect anything, he told me to go along too. I didn't really mind, hanging out with Ashlyn was fun, though I had a feeling that I would be ignored for most of the time, because it was hard to tear Ashlyn and Zayn apart once they got started. "Come on, Passion, we gotta go now!" Zayn knocked on my bedroom door. "I don't want to keep Ash waiting!" "Yeah. As if you aren't late already always on your dates." I rolled my eyes. "I'm coming, stop badgering me."

I put on a red hoodie, blue jeans and UGG boots. I opened the door to find Zayn dancing around in the hallway and flapping his hands around while wearing the biggest coat I have ever seen. "Um, hello weirdo?" "Oh." Zayn stopped dancing breathlessly, "I was cold, so I was moving around to keep myself warm." "Erm, Okay." He was wearing a big heavy fur coat, and he's still cold? This boy was unbelievable. "Let's go then." We went to this cafe half an hour drive away from our house. There were flowers in every possible corner in the cafe, and soft, slow music was playing in the background. It was a place where you would think to bring your girlfriend or boyfriend on a date. In other words, so not a place for me.

"You dragged me along on a date with your secret girlfriend, which I was fine with, until I found out the location was here. How am I supposed to not gag surrounded by this?" I kicked a flowerpot that was on the floor and the flowers burst out into a romantic tune. "See?" "Pash, babe, just deal with it." Zayn said, but his expression changed completely when he caught sight of Ashlyn. "Hello, the most beautiful girl on earth." "Hello yourself, the most handsome guy on earth." Ashlyn complimented him back and kissed his cheek lightly. "Let's go sit down, kay?"

"And there they go again." I muttered to myself. "Oh, hi Passion." Ashlyn gave me a smile. "And I'll try to restrain from kissing your brother when you're right next to us. After all, I don't want your vomit all over our tea." "Thanks a lot, Ashlyn. Very much appreciated. You hear that, Zayn? No kissing while I'm right next to you." "Fine." We sat down at a table in the corner so that Zayn's presence wouldn't be that noticeable. Zayn ordered a sandwich, Ashlyn ordered a cupcake (which according to Zayn looked as cute as Ash herself). I just got a latte and sipped quietly while Zayn and Ashlyn talked. Seeing Zayn and Ashlyn together made me wonder why Zayn went out with Tanya in the first place. Ashlyn and Tanya's personalities were world's apart. After a while, I lost interest in Zayn and Ash's conversation, so I just tuned out and read The Fellowship of the Ring, the first book of the Lord of the Rings trilogy that Cadence gave me. I was a quarter through the book when I heard a very familiar cough, and it wasn't from Ashlyn or Zayn. I looked up in surprise, and my eyes met blue ones that were flashing with malice and anger. Tanya. This was so not a good time for her to be here. I glanced at Zayn and Ashlyn, who were holding hands and staring at each other adoringly. It looked like Tanya saw them too. She started walking towards our table, her high heels making a brisk' clack' sound with every step she took. Oh no.

"Zayn!" I hissed, smacking his arm with my book. "Shush." He barely gave me a glance, and instead leaned across the table towards Ashlyn, their faces centimeters apart. "Zayn for god's sake, stop it!" I said louder, keeping an eye on Tanya. The furious scowl on her red lips was prominent in contrast with her white skin. She was so close to us now, I could practically smell her perfume and Zayn and Ashlyn were kissing? "Zayn Malik, cut it out! Tanya is right next to you!" Zayn and Ashlyn sprung apart at the name 'Tanya'. "Tanya? No, no, Ashlyn." Zayn murmured, leaning towards Ashlyn again.

"Zayn, hm? What on earth could be doing here?" Tanya's sickly sweet voice said, and the colour seemed to drain out of Zayn's face. "Um." Zayn went temporarily speechless. "Holy chicken nuggets." I whispered, taking a leaf out of Niall's book. "I'll just, you know, go to the bathroom. Or somewhere. Um, bye." Ashlyn took her chance and ran for it, mouthing 'good luck' to us. Zayn's face fell to see her go, but if she stayed here, Tanya would have started attacking her. Meanwhile, Tanya was looking like she was about to explode. "Well? Explain." She tapped her fingers on the table impatiently. "She's just a friend." Zayn said after a moment of silence. "Yeah, OK. But why were you kissing your friend?" Tanya's expression turned more evil, as if she knew there was no way Zayn could talk his way out of this mess. And she was right, I guess. How could Zayn explain why he was kissing someone else? "Because that's what friends do, right?" Zayn laughed weakly. I mentally face-palmed at Zayn's stupid answer.
