Song: The Other Side - c0nv0

---------------------------------------------------------

"Ughh..." I let out a shaky moan as I regain consciousness and feel all the aches running through my body protesting against any movement.

Where am I?

I look around the brightly lit white room.

Must be the nurse's office at the school.

"Oh good. You're awake. Welcome to Musutafu Regional Hospital, Miss L/N. '' says a tall female doctor as she moves into my line of vision.

Hospital?! What the hell?

My eyes widen in shock and the doctor chuckles slightly. She pushes her glasses up her nose as she settles into a nearby chair, resting her clipboard on her lap.

"My name is Dr. Kobayashi. You must be surprised to be here instead of the school's facilities. Hopefully I'll be able to describe what happened while you get some rest. Try not to move too much. Your body took an extensive toll. First off, please explain your quirk in detail. Any information can help prevent future hospital visits."

I settle into my bed preparing my thoughts for an extremely long explanation...

"My quirk is a combination of my mother's and my father's quirks. My Father's quirk is called Obsidian - the same has his hero name..." Distaste seeps into my tone as I describe my father's quirk. "It allows him to create obsidian and use it to his advantage in battle. Weapons or defensive barriers mostly."

"My mother was also a hero - Prism, and her quirk was called Spirit Refraction. From what I've been told it was an extremely powerful quirk that allowed her to channel her emotions for different purposes. Each different emotion was represented by a different color, much like how light refraction creates a rainbow."

A warm feeling fills my heart as I recount what I have learned about my mother.

"Red - Anger: A type of flame manipulation which grew depending on the strength of the emotion. It was often hard to control and caused blindness if overused. Blinded by rage...

Blue - Tranquility: When activated by a calm state of mind, her irises would turn a piercing blue and allow her future vision for a very brief amount of time. She rarely used this ability since maintaining a tranquil emotion in the chaos of hero work is nearly impossible, especially for an emotion-based quirk user.

Yellow - Jubilation: On happy sunny days she was able to harness the sun's energy to boost morale and physical power, which she could also give to others.

Given the complexity of human emotion, I have no idea if her quirk was limited to only very strong emotions, or if minor feelings had purpose as well.

However the most powerful of all was Green - Love. A powerful healing quirk that could be used to save lives. Luckily for the public my mother was a very loving person and was able to use this power regularly. She spent her free time volunteering at hospitals where she would heal those in need.

She was both the perfect combat and support hero."

My throat begins to constrict as I dwell on the thoughts of mom. Hot tears prick the corners of my eyes. A bitterness from not being able to know more about her rises inside me.

Dr. Kobayashi is concentrating on my every word, no doubt attempting to ascertain the cause of how I ended up in her company.

"Their two quirks combined create mine: Gemstone. I am able to conjure different gemstones, each with a different functionality."
