Ice skating had tired out both the doctor and Rose and they decided to call it a day and head home. Neither was badly injured but the odd bruise had started to sting now. Hand in hand, the couple walked back, giggling and grinning at the day's events. After the TARDIS door was opened, Rose jumped in and headed straight for the kitchen. "Where are you going?"
She turned around and grinned. "Tea."
"Lovely. Just milk thanks."
She sighed and frowned. "And why are you telling me that?" The Doctor's smile dropped and he said, "I thought you were making tea?" The girl nodded. "Well I normally make you one so now it's your turn." He smiled and she just shook her head. "Sorry Doc but if you want some you'll have to make your own." And just like that, she vanished round one of the TARDIS corridors. "Well," the Doctor sighed. "You show them all of time and space, every planet that ever existed and they can't even be bothered to make you a cup of tea!" He wandered off, jumped down a few stairs and followed the girl to the kitchen.
The kitchen was a basic room in the TARDIS. The walls and tiles were a pale blue and cream colour. In the middle of the room was a small, white table and matching chairs. All in all, a very boring room for a 900 year old spaceman.
In the corner of the room, Rose Tyler was stood in a pair of grey tracksuit bottoms with a pale pink strip running down the outside. She wore a pale pink t-shirt with the design 'Make cupcakes, not war' on it. She was stood up, slouching her shoulders as she stirred the tea bag around in the mug and hummed the song 'Wherever You Will Go'. Absently mindly, she stared into the mug, completely unaware of the Doctor creeping up on her from behind. He slid his arms around her waist and hugged her tight. At first she jumped and resisted but then as his warm hands connected she hugged back. He whispered softly in her ear. "Thank you for travelling with me and making everyday special." She smiled and kissed his cheek. Her smile grew into a grin that grew into a laugh. "Nice try Doctor but I'm still not making you a cup!" She tried to pull away but he stayed there, almost stuck in the hug. "Rose I mean it. I've lived this time together. Ice skating today, tea jokes when we get home, snowball fights," Then his mind slipped back into that moment underneath the mistletoe. "It could be like this all the time, if you want it to be." Rose smiled and stared up into his sparkling eyes. She bit her lip, deep in thought. Moments later she replied with, "My tea will get cold." and she ran out of the kitchen and into a corridor. Once out of sight, the Doctor banged his head against the cupboard and sighed repeatedly sighed in shame.
