How dare you?!

The TARDIS landed and Rose entered the console room. Hung to her arms were big, floral patterned over-night bags, no doubt bursting with t-shirts and jeans. She only briefly looked at the Doctor before turning her attention to the door. He hadn't taken it as well as she thought. It was only a visit home. Not like she wanted to stay at home. Not like she wanted to give up time travel. Or did she? She shook her head softly, letting her short, blonde hair hang loosely over her shoulders.

She started walking towards the door when the Doctor sniffed loudly. "So?" He said. "When do you want me to come back for you?" His eyes never left the console and his tone was sharp and cruel. Rose thought he may have noticed his angry attitude but instead he just grunted, "If you want me to come back at all." He spun on his heels to leave the room when Rose threw her bags to the floor viciously. She stamped her fells on the floor and ran across the grated floor, heading straight towards the Doctor. Her hands grabbed his lapels and she pinned him against the wall of the TARDIS.

"How dare you!" Her grip was tight and the Doctor tried to wiggle out of his jacket but was held in place by three closed buttons and a very angry Londoner. "How could you say something like that?" Rose's face was red with anger and her voice was loud and stern. Her eyes were nearly bloodshot and the Doctor knew he was in the wrong.

There was silence and worrying looks from the Doctor. He looked at Rose, studying her. Her eyes were open fully and her hair was messy now, making his stand on end. Her once young and calm looking face had been replaced with fury and this scared him. "I didn't," he began, a lump slowly rising upwards in the back of his throat. He felt sick and pure, unadulterated fear. He was terrified of Rose Tyler. The thought would have normally made him laugh and might still have in the future, but not now.

"I thought you were going to leave me."

His voice was soft yet croaky and Rose's emotions snapped. All anger was replaced with compassion and guilt. She had made the Doctor upset. She had hurt him. She had scared him, and this broke her heart.

"Oh Doctor."

He'd seen the change. Her arms slipped down and flopped to her sides. She stepped backwards slowly on her right foot. Her arms, wrists and fingers were shaking. She looked down and her hands and held them close to her chest, to her heart. She looked down at the floor and let her eyes fill up with water. Her mouth opened to speak, but no words would come out. "I," was all she could manage. She turned around and ran back over to her bags. Once she picked them all up she walked to the door and placed her hand on the lock.

"I'm sorry."
