The TARDIS materialised in Rose Tyler's bedroom. Jackie Tyler ran in, the biggest comical grin ever known. It spread from ear to ear and she bounced as she touched the floor. She was singing to herself, a made up song that showed her excitment more.
"Rose is home!
Whoop! Whoop!
Rose is home!
Whoop! Whoop!"
Her daughter wasn't home often, so any trip made the woman happy. She couldn't wait to see the smile on her daughters fa-
"What the hell?!"
Rose Tyler walked out of the TARDIS doors, mascara and eye shadow streaming down her face. Jackie's face dropped. Her tunes of joy were replaced with confusion and then almost immediate anger. "If this is that bloody alien, I swear to Go-"
She turned to face the TARDIS when Rose pulled her back. "It's not. It's just," she could feel her mom studying her, looking for clues to her daughter's emotions. She could feel the Doctor's eyes on her, watching the action through the TARDIS scanner. She looked at the TARDIS. "It's just silly space stuff."
Inside the TARDIS the Doctor sighed. He didn't think he was wrong, yet he still felt deeply responsible for hurting his friend. "Goodbye." He spoke softly, his heart, mind and voice full of regret, loss and love.
The TARDIS materialised away and Rose felt her insides burst. She felt empty. 'I love you.' she said in her head. It was always easier inside your mind than actually saying it aloud. She'd never told anyone she loved them. Not properly. She'd never been in love before the Doctor. Now she would never see him again. "Goodbye." She whispered softly just so she and the remains of the blue box could hear.
Rose looked towards her mom now. "So come one then! Been in the flat two minutes and ain't been offered a tea yet!"
