Rose ran into her bedroom, practically spilling tea all over the TARDIS floor. She slammed the door and repeatedly apologised to the spaceship. She ran into the bathroom and locked the door behind her. Taking a makeup remover wipe, she took off all her thick mascara and tutted into the mirror. How different she looked without makeup on! If the Doctor saw this, he certainly wouldn't love the way he did. She stopped, put down the wipe and stared at herself in the mirror. 'He doesn't love you,' she mocked to herself in her head, 'why on earth would an amazing man like the Doctor love you? Even Mickey Smith, the world's worst mechanic doesn't love you.' Her eyes started to water and well up with tears and she unlocked the bathroom door slowly. She slumped over to the bed and collapsed onto it. This day had confused and upset her deeply. Her head was drowning in memories of Mickey and the Doctor and times she shared with the both of them. Their first kisses, first planets and so forth. She lay there on the bed for a while longer. Her eyes were streaming now as she thought of her best friends at home, of Mickey and most importantly of her mum, Jackie. She curled up into a ball underneath her duvet and wept.
A few hours passed and after he'd calmed down, the Doctor walked down a corridor and past Rose's bedroom. He lifted his hand to knock the door and check on her, when he heard her crying. A fire inside of him raged and he wanted nothing more than to burst into her room and comfort her. But the TARDIS knew better. She bleeped and flashed. Alarm bells went off at idiotic speeds and the Doctor was forced to choose between his ship or companion. Fearing Rose's life, he ran into the console room and fixed the TARDIS's beeping.
Inside the room, Rose looked up at the ceiling and whispered softly so just she could hear, "Thank you old girl."
