Annie

The nightmares are getting worse with each passing day and I can't seem to explain it but I can see me but it doesn't feel like me, she's like a twin and all I see around me is blood. Ever flowing blood and it doesn't stop.

Meanwhile, my brother and I have gotten relatively closer ever since our discussion with my mom about our family bonding and coping with dad's death.

There's some small talk here and there with Max but other than that I think we're cool.

"Wanna head out with me and May?" He asked me as I picked my sandwich from the kitchen counter.

"Yeah" I said, I mean it's better than walking, our school is not far from home but I guess a car is better than walking and May is not so bad even though she's popular, pretty and brother's boyfriend.

"Let's go, May's already waiting outside" he picked his backpack and walked out of the door. I kissed mum's cheek and followed him to May's car.

"Hey babe and his sister" she grinned as Max and I approached her vehicle.

"Funny, I don't think I've ever introduced you two. May this is my sister Annie" Max introduced me to his girlfriend but I just spared her a quick glance and muttered some words underneath my breath.

"Nice to meet you Annie, I'm May" she grinned as she drove us to school.

Opening the door I was met with Jaden and his siblings also alighting from their own vehicle, the black truck looked new like it was polished black.

I ran towards Jaden and hugged him, we've gotten closer these past few days and I've found some strange comfort in his arms.

He hugged me back and chuckled

"Missed you too" he taunted as he let go of my arms.

"Jaden meet my brother Max" I wanted introducing the both of them but Jaden eyes froze as his eyes met with Max and so did the rest of his siblings.

They looked at Max like they had seen a ghost

"Um.. hi guys" Max greeted before leaving the parking lot with May by his side.

"Are you okay?" I nudged Jaden to get back his attention

"I'm fine, just thought I recognized him" he said with a confused look on his face.

"Well yeah, he's the football team captain so he's pretty popular" I grinned, acknowledging the fact that brother was seen as some sort of local hero in town.

"Yeah.. yeah ..right" Jaden answered and we walked towards the school lockers

At lunch I noticed that Jaden's brother; Mathew kept stealing glances at Max like he was trying to guess who he was. It was awkward seeing a guy check out my brother but even Jaden seemed interested in Max and kept asking questions about him. Seems everyone loves Max, I guess.

"Hey" Andrew and his brother Henry walked towards me as I finished dumping my biology notes into my locker.

I'm still weirdly attracted to Henry but not as much as I'm attracted to Jaden or Blaine but there's something about Henry I just can't seem get my head around, he's intelligent but that's just one of the reasons asides his looks.

"Haven't seen you recently Annie" Andrew interrupted my train of thoughts.

"I've been around" I replied as I got my things ready for my history lessons which I shared with Blaine.

"So what do we know about the Salem witch trials?" The history teacher asked the class

"There were no witches, a plague struck Salem and the people blamed it on a group of women as the cause of their suffering" Blaine answered the question.

"Correct! Mr Johnson, there were no proof of actual witches here in Salem, but it's true that a plague struck Salem and our crops went bad and as the famine spread, the people began to look towards the supernatural which led to burning of innocent women and also men" The teacher droned on about the importance of facts and the cause of wars and major killings across the globe due to misconceptions.

"How did you even know that?" I asked Blaine after he answered the questions asked

"I sometimes love to read on our history here in Salem" he answered

"Your family has always lived here?" I asked

"We've lived in Salem for generations, I have uncles and aunts outside of Salem but this is our home and they always come back eventually" he answered speaking off to a distance.

"That's cool, we lived in New York before moving down here but my Dad said he's family lived here before he considered leaving" I explained how my dad left Salem

"Yeah, everyone who leaves Salem always comes back, there's something supernatural about it" Blaine replied

"Well my Dad didn't get to enjoy it" I said sadly

"I'm sorry about your loss" Blaine sympathised

Junior year was one hell of a ride but I'm a senior now and I'm about to say goodbye to highschool in less than a year.

"After school, I'd like to show you something" Blaine said, pulling me away from my depressing thoughts.

"Like a date?" I asked raising my eyebrows

"Something like that, but I want to show you something important" he said and with the look on his face I couldn't help but panic. What was so important, he couldn't just tell me right now.

After taking a shower and cooling down my temperature from today's school activities, I heard a knock and quickly rushed downstairs, that must be Blaine but Max beat me to it and opened the door letting Blaine in.

"Are you ready to go" Blaine asked I walked down the stairs with my sneakers making the wooden floor sound like a duck paddling down.

"Yeah let's go" I followed him outside.

"So what did you want to show me?" I asked him as we approached the woods

"Close your eyes" he asked and I raised my eyebrows in surprise

"Do you trust me?" I nodded "then close your eyes" he said

I close my eyes and about a minute later I felt light touches cover my face, like rain drops but softer, like feather.

I opened my eyes and saw rose petals dropping on the floor like rain. Blaine just stood there smiling as he watched the petals fall down.

"What's happening" I asked as the rose petals continued to drop all around us.

"I'm a witch" he replied.
