Chapter 16

Max

Today's practice felt like hell and with me worrying about my dad and the Annie situation I was distracted the entire time and with Damon and Stefan on my case, made the whole thing worse.
I couldn't find Mathew and his beautiful smile all through practice, also I you think of it; I didn't see him in school all day. The whole Dad thing had me stressed out but I also needed to talk to May so approached as she talked with none other than Damon Salvatore.

"May can I talk to you" I asked as I approached them

"What are you doing dude" Damon smirked with trouble in his eyes.
I turned to May and raised my eyebrow up.

"I have nothing to say to you Max" she said

"It's important May, I know you are mad at me and all that but this is important and for your own good" I tried to get through to her.

"Dude, the lady said she doesn't want to talk to you, so take the hint and go" Damon confronted me but I had no time to be messing around so I tried snatching May by grabbing her arm but Damon quickly grabbed my arms and shoved me away.

"I don't what you are doing to her but this has got to stop right now!" I confronted Damon and May stared in awe, there's something going on between him and her and with all the blood she tries to hide from me by wearing those turtleneck sweaters.

"Are you trying to get your ass beat up Maxy?" Damon said with a smirk but I was no longer playing around and I threw the first punch but the pain I felt in my knuckles was immeasurable and Damon hardly flinched

"So you wanna play?" He asked and came closer, so I closed my eyes in that moment and waited for retaliation but it never came.

"You're not worth it anyway" Damon shook his head as he grabbed May and left.

I sighed in relief of not getting my ass beat but that's before I felt sharp a pain in my head and I lost consciousness.

"Dad?" I muttered.
I could see his figure standing in the middle of the room, everything was white like blinding white lights that surrounded the entire room. I must be dreaming...

"Max you have to stop them!" I heard his voice but his back was turned to me.

"Stop who" I asked as I gently walked towards him

"They're trying to bring her back, Max you have to stop them"  he said again.

I made it towards him but as I touched him I woke up with a jerk. And I realized I laid on a floor, this was definitely not my house and the last thing I remembered was being knocked out by something or someone.

"Ha, you're awake" I heard the voice but I didn't know who it was but I think I've heard it before.
I slowly got up as I tried to remember where I was

"I'm Jaden and you're at the Anderson's mansion" a tall guy walk towards me and he looked vaguely familiar and that nose looked the same as-

"Yeah, I'm Mathew's brother and I'm guessing you are Max" he smirked

"What am I doing here and are you reading my mind" I was mildly tempted to run but I didn't know exactly where I was and what this guy is capable of.

"You've been hanging out with my brother and we're looking for him, you wouldn't know where he is, now would you?" He asked raising his eyebrows at the last bit

"No! I have no idea where he is" I said trying to sound confident but I must have panicked cause he looked at me weirdly and smiled like he could see into me.
Also Mathew is missing, that must be why I didn't get to see him all day.

"You can offer your gratitudes now" he said

"What!" I was completely stunned

"I saved you from the big bad wolf, so I'm guessing a simple thank you would suffice" he said
But I got mad and realized what he had done

"No what you did was kidnap me and bring me to god knows where the hell this is" I said angrily

"I saved you and now I need you to help me find my brother" he said it like it was a normal thing to say.

"I will do no such thing and let's not pretend like I don't see you hanging around my sister" I confronted him and readied my fist

"Relax Max and do not test me cause I'd not hesitate to snap your head" he snarled

"Enough! We have to focus on finding Mathew and nicely to formally meet you" A girl with walked in

"What's going on here" I was beginning to get confused about this whole and my involvement in this.

"You're my Brother's play thing right?" She asked and Jaden snickered at the comment.

"What she means is that, you've been hanging out with Mathew and he has been saying how special you are"

"Yeah but we've just net and there's nothing going on between us" I tried to explain myself but continued to wear their signature smirks.

"Just help us find him and then you're free to go" Jaden said like this was a hostage situation.

"And if I don't?" I asked, daring them to do their worst.

"Now let's not go there" Veronica smiled and added
"You were the last person to see my brother so you're good enough for the spell to work" she said

"What!" This day couldn't get any worse than this

"I'm ready" Blaine walked into the room

"You again!" I growled at him

"I'm here against my will too so let's get this done with and go" Blaine said as we walked into a room with different herbs laid out on the floor and a pentagram was drawn with candles all lined up.

"Let's find my brother" Veronica said.
