Before humans ruled the world, faeries roamed the land freely, their magic tying them to nature and animals around them in a special bond. As the humans grew in population the faeries' numbers dwindled, leaving them to go into hiding and pose as humans. In the modern world, faeries walk freely among humans, living lives indiscernible from theirs. It's easy to keep up the magical glamors and hide your faerie marks, unless your roommate is as nosy as all hell.
