It was the end of another year at Hogwarts, only some of the students realised that it wouldn't ever be the same again.
Kathy Wood was one of them, especially since she knew that her brother wasn't going to be there next year and that she would have to keep up with her defensive spells to use against a newly risen dark lord.
Cedric Diggory, her best friend, was safe and was currently thriving in St Mongo's.
The day he woke up he sent a letter for his friends, demanding a visit and sweets.
Which made Charlotte giggle as usual and Penny instantly wanting to march down to any sweet shop.
Everyone was gathered on the courtyard to bid everyone else a goodbye before they parted, the other schools had left and now the Hogwarts students were setting up to head to the station.
"I'm going to miss the peaceful years here at Hogwarts" Penny sighed, as she had her arm wrapped around Charlotte's.
"It's all going to change now, isn't it?" Charlotte said in a soft voice, not wanting to cry outside in public.
Penny hugged the girl closer to her side as Kathy trotted alongside them.
"Kathy?" Penny called out to the newly quiet girl, who replied with a hum. "We're all going to be fine, we've made it this far"
"I know, I can't help but worry though" Kathy states with a frown on her face, as she glanced around the place to see students acting the same as usual. "And people pretending that nothing is happening is making me mad"
Penny agreed with the girl, nodding along and still comforting Charlotte.
But, then Penny caught sight of a red head looking their way and stopped Kathy from walking with them, dragging Charlotte away to the train.
Kathy stood there very confused until Fred appeared in front of her wearing his usual lob-sided grin.
"Fred" she breathed out, a grin playing on her lips as she caught sight of him.
"Kathy"he stated cheekily before handing over a piece of paper, "just in case you want to get in touch with me"
And he even added a wink on the end of his sentence, which made Kathy blush lightly before she placed it into her jackets pocket.
"Can you tell Harry that I believe him, and so do my friends?" Kathy asked him in a small voice.
Fred nodded as he gently looked down at her, "of course"
"Thanks"
"No problem..." he finished the conversation, still maintaining eye contact with her.
She took the risk first and leaned upwards to place a gentle peck on his lips before settling back down onto her feet.
His eyes were wide until he snapped out of it, and took it as his turn to lean down and kiss her.
His lips brushed hers, softly, delicately, just long enough that he could make her heart flutter, feel the warmth of her skin, and have a familiar shiver run through her spine.
And then their lips collided and she almost let out a sigh from content, she placed her hands onto his cheeks gently as he placed his on her waist.
"Oh, come on!" A familiar Scottish accent groaned.
Kathy pulled away with flushed cheeks and turned around to spot her brother behind them.
"Hey...." she trailed off and Fred waved with a smirk.
Her brother went to say something but she let out a giggle before running off to the train, shouting a "Don't want to miss the train!"
