Kathy had enough of her friends falling apart and avoiding each other.
Cedric was avoiding Penelope's raft.
Penelope was avoiding the idea of confrontation to Cedric.
And then there was Charlotte who wanted no part in any of it, so she decided to hand out with LeStrange.
Which left Kathy to do whatever she wished, it was fun at first but now it felt lonely and she didn't exactly want to be the one to break the ice, she didn't want to have the whole thing shoot back on her.
So, she hid away in the library to study for her O.W.L's until she heard Hermione and Harry talking rather hastily.
Curious to the disruption, she got up from her table and made her way to the isle they were on.
"I didn't think Dragon should be your sort of reading" she announced herself with, Hermione muttered something under her breathe that Kathy didn't catch.
"Yeah, we're trying to search for information for the first tournament." Harry scratched the back of his head nervously and Kathy smiles softly before walking over to him.
"Well, for one you should use this book" she explained before taking out a book by Newt Scamander, "and two, what exactly you looking for?"
"A way to not get injured" Hermione explained shortly, flicking pages by quickly.
"You are allowed a wand aren't you?" Kathy asked gently, hardy hummed, Kathy grinned. "Think Harry, what are your hobbies?"
He furrows his eyebrows as he thought, "quidditch?"
"Brilliant!" Hermione cheered, before walking over and giving Kathy a quick hug. "Perfect idea, we've got plenty of work to do Harry"
Kathy turned around to walk back as she heard the disapproving groans from the chosen one.
She gathered up her books, quill and ink into her bag and lugged it over her shoulder so she could head over to the Hufflepuff common room.
The hallways were quiet, and quite dark as the sun was setting down on this part of the world.
The air was eerie and the only sounds in earshot were mainly Kathy's trips down the corridors as she slowly made her way back before curfew, although if she got lucky enough the least she'd get is Charlotte on perfect duty.
Her mind drifted off to the tournament, she thought of the dangers and dragons before her mind drifted off to the thought of the unexpected champions.
"What a strange situation to be in" she mused before stepping into the common room with glee:
She caught sight of Cedric and Penelope asleep on each other's shoulders, cozied up together.
Kathy smiled to herself as she watched her friends, she pulled out one of the common room blankets and dragged it on top of them.
Without another look back, she made her way up the stairs and towards her dormitory.
