I can't breathe. With your knee on my neck.
I can't breathe. With your pepper spray in my face.
I can't breathe. With your guns to my chest.
I can't breathe with your hate messages I'm my head.
I can't breathe with your triumph over my fall, sitting heavy on my chest.
I can't breathe when you lock me away and throw the key in my face.
I can't breathe when I think about the world my son or daughter will grow up in.

Momma! Momma! Momma!please save me I can't breathe!!
Why won't they let me breath?

Dear white person,

You brought me from my home and I served you tirelessly.
The same walls you lock me in were built by my sweat and blood.
The economy that has made you a super power was built on my creativity, my dedication, my talents!
Yet, you won't let me breathe.

I have prayed for it, I have begged for it, I have sang songs about it. Poems I write about it.
Battles I battle for it. To the streets I have gone.
But yet you won't let me breathe?

What do I have to do?
For you to realize we breath the same air?
What do I have to do to for you to realize that I am worth, I am human, I am equal and I deserve to breath?

Tell me because I need to breathe.

Please.

**************************
Ya'll might not know this but I'm just a young girl from Africa.(KENYA).

I have always hoped, prayed, yearned that one day I will make my way to America. I have always had this dream that all dreams come true in America.

But how can that be true when I can't feel safe in my own skin?
How can I dream when the world is a nightmare??

I'm no writer, I'm no poet but I wrote what I was feeling.

Feel free to share, speak, encourage and let's try to make the world a better place for everyone.
