He stares you straight in the eyes "if you knew Carley's lover, he'd probably know more about her wouldn't you say?".

With no further interaction Annie asks for the name and address of Charley's man.

"Kampfer Boltz. He lives on south Aachen road, not sure which house".

After hearing this Annie stares at the man who had the dislocated shoulder. "I-I didn't know a thing about him until it was just said then!" He cries in fear of more punishment. But instead Annie walks up to him, locks her arms over his and brings his shoulder back into place before looking at you and leaving the bar.

"She's quite the handful isn't she" you say to the 3 men still in shock for the events that just happened.

"Argh! Just please leave us to drink"

You walk outside the bar to see Annie waiting for you at the carriage. "So you wanna go look for this Kämpfer guy?" You ask whilst quickly checking up on your odm gear.

"Yes, but not now" she replies turning her head away from you.

"Okaaayyy? Why?"

"I just don't feel like it right now" she states arms folded.

"That isn't like you. What's up?"

She was about to talk again until another noise entered your ears. Her stomach rumbled. She was hungry.

"You know it's not that hard to say that your hungry" you chuckle.

Annie sighs.

"Hehehe, come on then let's go grab a bite"

You and Annie were both sat on a bench eating sandwiches. It's been a while since you've had any down time so this was quite pleasant for you.

A cat had approached you both, you'd guess it was looking for food. To your surprise Annie broke off a piece of her sandwich and extended her arm out to the cat, only for it to hiss at her and run off.

"Tch. The little shit doesn't know what's good for him" you say.

Annie still remains motionless next to you.

"Hey Annie you good? Annie!"

She finally gets out of her little daydream. "Oh sorry, I was just thinking".

"Yea well...be careful doing that" you say with a grin.

She chuckles a little before going back to eating her sandwich.

"Hey Annie?"

"Hm" she responds still eating her sandwich.

"You're a really nice person, once someone really gets to know you"

She stares at you for a second and her eyes soften a bit, she huffs and folds her arms. "Armin said the same to me before he left for the scouts".

"Hehehe, well then it has to be true, if your gonna believe anyone it'd have to be him"

A silence hangs over you.

"Hey Annie, what's your end goal here?" You ask shifting your gaze to her. She looks at you with the slight expression of shock before returning to her natural look of calmness.

"I've said this countless times, I'm only looking out for myself and want a secure, safe spot in the military police."

"You say that but...well...I can say for a fact that you have some purpose other than that."

She looks at you with a new expression, one that took you by surprise. It was a kind of mix of seriousness and fear.

"And how can you be so sure?!" She pleads, almost as if she was looking for the answer herself.
