Matt POV

I am in the station sitting in my office before the phone in my office starts to ring. I pick up the phone. Before I say anything, Avar's familiar voice comes out. "Matt, I need to confess something. Could you just come to us? I'm with Max. We're in his place," not letting me reply, she hangs up. Just like before. Now is different though She was my leader before, not anymore. Still, I get my keys and get walk towards the entrance door.

"Where are you going?" My boss's voice stops me. He is Avar's mentor as well, so there no way I'm telling him that I'm going to Avar. He will not be liking it, but then again what Avar wants to confess could be something beneficial "cat got your tongue!" He says when I don't answer him. He then comes closer to me.

I gulp knowing that there's nothing I can do.

"Well, Avar just called," I embrace myself for a lecture, but nothing. He just looks at me for a while. Why is he keeps looking at me? "What did she said to you?" He asked.
I told him that she called and said that she needs to confess something. He looks at me and digests what I told him. "She's one of the best. I just wonder what she wants to tell you," he finally says while looking me in the eyes. "Oh and please let me know how it goes. I know you like her," he adds before he goes back to his office.

I leave the station and go to Max's. Max's door opened once I get out of my car. "You came," Avar's strong voice calls me out.

"Yea, you did!" Max says showing himself behind her. His expression doesn't show many emotions.

I just enter their place. Is it possible that she wants to confess her feeling towards me? No, I don't think that's what she wants to talk about otherwise Max wouldn't appear behind her. "What do you want to tell me? What is so important that you couldn't say on the phone? You are not my leader anymore," I start shooting questions after one after another.

Both siblings are quiet. They are just looking at me. Great, I'm just in some kind of game.

"Perhaps I am not your leader. No, but I find out some things that I believe it could be beneficial to have it as evidence," Avar starts. I just notice that she is holding a Black book that has written something on it. She raises the book. "This is why I ask you to come. I know that I'm off this case, but this is not just a case for me. Not anymore," she said hopeful, for she thinks that I would believe her.

"I don't believe you, and I'm not interested in that book," I say sternly. She turns away before she speaks again, "that's what I thought. This is why I'm going to tell you that Sara wasn't just an innocent girl who knew nothing. She..."

"She what?" I ask as Max goes out of sight.

"She was," Avar starts again, but it seems like she couldn't continue. She's looking at the floor now, and I hear her voice is shaking.

"She was our cousin," Max, from the other room, says.

"This is her diary. I couldn't stop myself from wondering. The night mentor put me out of the case, I went to Sara's place to find something. Something within me told me that there's potential evidence. I knew no one will let me, so I did it. I found a gun and this dairy. I called 9-1-1, so you could do the rest of the job. I just couldn't stop. I took the diary because I believed that there's something important in it. Please put me back into the case. I think you know what to tell the boss," she says. Offering me to have a look at the diary. I mean, why wouldn't I! She's basically begging me.

"Wait, I also need to be with her. These are questions that are in my mind too. Especially after I find this odd book in the study room," Max says handing me an odd-looking book that says JASON, JESS, JULIA with a bold type!

"I need to use the phone," I said before I take the phone to call the station.

Avar POV

"You what?" I ask Max once Matt goes to get the phone to call the station. "What do you think you are doing. Last month you were just a normal student who was going to graduate soon. What, now you want to help me?" I add air quoting help. He's not a detective.

"Avar, please. I am your brother, and this is about our real family," Max says.

"This is not how I wanted things to go,"

"Oh yeah, how exactly did you want things to go, huh? You wanted to talk about Sara. A tiny part of this is on me too. I was the one who didn't let you give up on what you want to do. What was it you may ask? You wanted to figure this out police or not. In this case or out. You wanted to figure it out. You wanted to figure it all," Max says.

While Max speaks, I see that Matt hangs up the phone. I see Matt start coming towards us.

"What happened?" I asked Matt, making Max stop.

"Mentor is on his way here," Matt replies dryly.

"Matt, you don't need to speak to me like a stranger," I say. I have that gut feeling he actually heard everything that Max just said.

"Matt," Max calls him once he notices Matt's angry eyes on him.

No more word was share among us before there's a knock on the door. Matt gets the door. Shi,t what if the person who was speaking to Matt heard Max. Shit is getting real!

"Well, I mostly heard everything," my mentor says making me swallow big. "But I need to know more, and you Max, need to know when to stop. This is not a movie,"

"Isn't it?" I mock. I don't need a  lecture. This seems and feels like a movie. In real life, you just have one life. Here, in my life, I already am a detective, an undercover officer, a cop, a student, a sister, a lover. Like seriously. This is just a movie.

"What did you just said?" Mentor says in his calm and professional voice.

"Life is a movie. It is! You can't go back and change it. You can go and think about the memory of what happened, but you can never undo what's been done." I say with the same level of assertiveness.

"Anyways, we are not here to talk about these kinds of things. I mean I am not here to talk about this. Let me have a look at the book and diary," he says while extending his hand.
