'Where the hell is the bread' I rummaged everywhere trying to find what little bread I had left to make breakfast. Did I eat it already? No I can't have. I reassured myself that there was still some left and that's when I layed eyes on it. The pure white bread hiding behind stacks of plates.
Breakfast having been eaten, I put my jacket on and head off to work. I don't work in the best of jobs but it's money none the less. I need as much as I can get if I want to carry on living here.
'Benny's Diner' the bright red light luminated the entrance as I walked up to it ready to endure 6 hours of hell.I work as a cleaner here but I always get at least one customer that tries to make life that much more difficult for me by throwing some food onto the floor purposefully. It takes every ounce of me not to pick it up and throw it right in their face.

The street is a lot darker now as I leave the diner. Gotham looks almost sinister this time of night.
I head to go home but as I walk past an ally I hear shouting from several men. I try to see what's going on not getting caught and as I look closer there seems to be a group of teenagers huddled together kicking and shouting at something between them.
After a few minutes the boys run off laughing and high fiving each other. That's when I saw what was circled inside them.A man was lying on the floor panting and coughing in pain. I run up to him hoping to help in any way I can. That's when I notice what he looks like. A clown. A very skinny, pained looking clown sobbing on the ground.
I kneel in front of him as he flinches to protect himself. "It's ok, I'm not going to hurt you. My names y/n, I would've come sooner but there was too many of them" I conclude, the man sits up slowly, wincing as he did so. I handed him some water from my bag. "T-thank you, I'm A-rthur" he stuttered. He takes a swig of the water and looks me in my eyes. There's barely any colour. They seem so hollow, so dead like. He was really in pain. " Hey listen shall I take you to my apartment and help you recover" I ask. "That would be really helpful thank you" Arthur could speak a bit better now.
I help him up steadily as we walk towards my apartment.
