CHAD'S POV

My eyes wandered back and forth searching the top shelf for my preferred poison. Since I had tasted the Captain's special blend, I denounced all other spirits, well almost all. Each person is tailored for a particular drink, and Captain Morgan's spiced rum was my venom.

"Hey player, what time did you get here?" Raul threw his jacket on the back of the bar stool. "Sorry I'm late, my parents called."

"No worries, how are they?" I extended my hand.

"Same old, asking when I'm coming back to Celeena to visit. I think they're trying to get me to move back."

"Is it working?"

"Hell no!" he chortled. "Micah's here, you're here why the hell did you think I moved here in the first place?"

"I thought you moved here for the Knicks!"

"Please! I think they'd be playing better if they brought Glenn and Jerry back out of retirement!" Raul shook his head in disgust. "Chris really fucked up that team."

"I hear that!"

"You really love this place, don't you?" Raul asked looking around.

"Dude, it's Sliver. Beautiful women, great music and all that booze, how can I not love it?!"

When I had first stepped into Sliver in downtown Soho, I was smitten and it instantly became my favourite watering hole. A small yet hip joint with a beautiful aquarium built into the wall above the trendy and comfortable sofas. During summer nights, they opened up their French doors and the luminous aqua blue was visible from the street. Customers couldn't help but move to the beat of the music as the drinks kept coming and the live DJ on Saturday always spun the newest tracks.

"How much bloody money do you make at that damn magazine to keep coming to this place?" asked Raul as he sat down.

"The stock market been good to me buddy," I smiled.

"Lucky guy! Anyway, before I forget, dinner and dessert at Errol next week, Tuesday. Don't bother trying to get out of it, we're all going!" rubbing his hands together, Raul looked around the bar, searching, "So, where is she?"

"I haven't seen her yet," I responded.

As soon as the words slid out of my mouth, we both turned towards the entrance by every movement of this Goddess like creature. The stiletto heels with dark, tanned leather straps just above her ankle complimented her olive skin and accentuated her sexy long legs. Her hips swung ever so gently from side to side with every step she climbed. The frilly edge of her skirt bounced in jubilation with every stride. She raised her head as she walked in and her radiant and innocent smile was a sight to behold. She had tied her hair back, but a few strands fell loose at the sides. If perfection did exist in this world, Lara had to be it.

"Hello boys, been waiting long?" she stood behind us and placed her warm hands on our shoulders.

Within seconds, the natural scent of sandalwood that seemed to exude from her body blanketed us.

"Just got here lover," Raul said with a cheesy grin. He never could stop himself from flirting with Lara.

She smiled and walked towards the back of the bar greeting the regulars along the way. We watched her walk away until she was out of sight. We both exhaled like little school girls with a crush.

"Damn! Is it me or does she get finer every time we see her?"

"I need a drink," was all I could muster.
