Of all the eateries in New York, no one could ever understand why Micah had an obsession with Chevy's. The four of us used to eat there often, especially since its location was next to two movie theaters."Hey, if it isn't our favorite customers, a bit earlier than usual, aren't you?" replied Micah.
"Nice. Where are your partners in crime?
Micah paused and looked at me, uncertain of what to say. They weren't the best of friends, but Sophia and Micah had built up a rapport with one another. Both being size 6, they even shared clothes and accessories on occasion; however that relationship came to an awkward end after treachery. Still, Sophia seemed unsure of how to approach me about break up.
"They're at work," my eyes didn't leave the menu.
"I wish I could away for lunch too," she smiled, "You guys want your regular drink orders?"
"No, no, I have to get back to work, just get me some water please, how about you, Chad?"
"Whatever you have on tap, thanks."
"Alright, I'll be right back," the waitress chimed and made her way towards the bar.
"Isn't it insane, we come here so often that the waiters know us by our first names?
"I think its pretty cool, makes it feel like we have some influence," I smiled
Micah giggled and placed her hand over her mouth.
"Chad, it's been ages since you and I have hung out like this."
"Well, you're always with that stumpy idiotic boyfriend of yours, what can I do."
"Very funny, he's not stumpy, just vertically challenged," she chuckled, "But seriously, it has been a long time. How have you been? How was Philippines?"
"I'll tell you this, it was good to get away and spend time with my Lola and Roxanne."
"How are they? And Roxanne, How is she?"
"They're good, Lola still so strong despite of her age, honestly it seems like she didn't change at all. Same talkative, and protective Lola as always."
"Woww. I missed your Lola. I still remember the first time we met, she's so cute, she even accused me as your fiancee.. haha" Micah said
"Actually she thought that you and Raul would come, hmm.. I think she missed you more than me.." I said wearing my pouty lips..
"Hahahaah.. I love it. Now you know who's the real 'apo' between us..hahaha.. just kidding.. she's just used to see your face unlike us, she just met us once. Anyways, how about Roxanne?"
"She's good, I spoke to her last night and she told me she's headed to Hong Kong this week."
She tilted her head and looked puzzled
"Hong Kong, how come?"
I had said too much. If Roxanne took as long as she did to tell me, she obviously didn't want anyone to know
"To handle some family work I think." I lied.
"Wow, at least some of us are enjoying life. You know I always thought you two had a thing for each other.
I couldn't help but laugh
"Roxanne and I? No way. Anyway, you aren't the first person to think that."
