The ring tone buzzed over and over. Normally I'd have hung up by now, but in my current state, I'd have just kept redialling the number until someone picked up or I passed out.

📲: "Hello?" she gasped. "Oh shit! It's all wet. Sorry, hello?"

Silence passed between us and we only heard each other breathing.

"Hi, it's me," I slurred.

📲: "I know hon, something told me it was you."

"What are you doing? Am I disturbing you?" I asked.

📲: "No, not at all. I was just in the shower and had to run out to answer the phone. There's this trail of water from the bathroom to the bed.." Her breathing had now calmed. 📲: "Tell me, how are you?
"I'm fucked up! How are you?" the sarcasm in my tone was more than apparent.

📲: "What's wrong?' the concern in her voice was clear..

"It's the same old shit. But tell me what's happening with your cyber love?"

📲: "I don't want to talk about that, Chad. Tell me what's going on with you, what happened?"

"No! I raised my voice. "Tell me about him!" I insisted.

Roxanne exhaled and humoured me.

📲: "Well things have been going well. We've been spending a lot of time together and he's a darling. Im going to meet his mother this evening."

"That's fucking brilliant I tell you," I barked resentfully "Just fucking brilliant!"

📲: "He's been taking me around Hong Kong and we've had a couple of romantic dinners, it's been good." She ignored my negativity and continued, 📲: "I think he may be the one."

"Praise the Lord! Alright, that's enough, I don't want to know anymore or I'll hurl!"

📲: "Now that you know everything on my end, tell me what's going on with you Chad? What time is it there?"

"I don't know it's late," I said between gulps of water.

📲: "Why are you still up then?"

"I just got back home."

📲: "Back from where, Chad?"

"I went to bar! Where do you think?"

📲: "Did you go with Raul?"

"Nope, just by myself, I went there solo." I stumbled to the fridge and reached for another bottle of water.

📲: "Chad, what happened to you? You were doing so well when you came out to Philippines. What changed?"

She was right, I had regressed. I had spiralled out of control and it all seemed to start after my confrontation with Drew it brought everything back. I had slipped back into the dark well from which I had been crawling out of, inch by inch.

"I don't know I feel so lost, Roxanne. I feel so alone. I don't know what to do, where to turn," I pleaded, "I feel like I'm begging for help from every corner but nothing helps," tears began to streak my cheeks.
