Wow, ordering potentially dangerous drugs off of the internet. This is what my life has become I guess. I've probably never opened a prescription bottle in my life, so sorry if it's wrong lolll
No picture cri, but if you don't want to read about strange drugs don't read this chapter
Jared orders the pills. How bad can they be?
Unless they're laced with something.
He could always go to the hospital, or just ask Connor about it. But he's not going to die just because he ordered something off of the internet. Probably.
He groans. It's day three of waiting, and he thinks they're supposed to arrive sometime today. But for now he's locked himself in his room, hugging his knees to his chest.
He has to get those pills soon, or his friends will start to get suspicious.
Just as he thinks that, the doorbell rings. He jumps up and rushes to the front door, taking the steps two at a time. He flings the door open and low and behold, there's his box of wonders.
He takes it in his hands, quickly shuts the door, and heads back to his room. He rips open the box and grabs the pills. They look... well, ordinary. Nothing interesting about them. They're white, and shaped like tic tacs.
Yep, pretty boring.
They're literally in a plastic bag, which is just great. He has to find something good to store them in, like a prescription bottle.
He gets up and searches his room. Nothing. He heads to the bathroom and ransacks the medicine cabinet.
There's an almost empty bottle of sleeping pills. He twists the bottle open and dumps the pills into the sink. He doesn't care for those. Nobody uses them anyway.
He heads back to his room and fills the plastic orange container with his new pills. He goes back to the box, looking for some kind of instructions.
Ah. He's supposed to take one a day, with or without food, at most. Good enough for him.
He shrugs and takes one. It's disgusting. But if it works correctly, he can live with that. But he actually doesn't feel any different. Who knows, maybe it has to kick in. He stores the bottle in his school bag, just in case.
It kicks in after less than five minutes.
That means that if something's happening, he can just take one, no big deal. Plus, they're easy to dry swallow.
Regardless, he feels nothing, like someone threw a blanket over his emotions. They're muffled, barely there. He's free to just... think.
Okay, maybe that sounds really bad, but again, if it works, who cares?
He waits it out to see how long it lasts. According to his timer, thirty minutes. Not bad at all.
This could save him.
