Madeleine's POV

-What's happening Andrew?

-No idea.

There was a white tornado, again, surrounding us. I thought we were doing good. We kept a tight schedule when it came to time traveling, so I had no idea what was wrong. Confused, I was holding Andrew's hand, and just waiting for this dumb process to be finished.

The colors started showing again, but this time they were brighter. I guess it was the daytime. After the spinning stopped we both looked around, confused, and trying to guess what time we were. It was difficult to tell, whether it was past or future since houses and buildings change over time. Anyway, from the look of it, I would have guessed we were some time in the past. How far? I had no idea.

I looked over at Andrew, and he was trying to analyze this as well. He looked at me with his ocean eyes:

-We are for sure in the past. I think we are at the 80'.

-What? How do you know that?

-Well, according to the pressure of the wind, and the sun cycle we're in, along with these sticks laying down here on the west side,- he said looking dead serious.

-You really can tell?- I asked shocked at what he just said.

-Nope, silly. I read it on this board. See?

He gestured into a white enormous board: The best place where you can purchase the latest 80' clothes. Only 3.99 dollars.

-Wow... things are cheap. Can we buy stuff?

-We have to go back though,- he said calmly, just trying to find another distraction for me.

-But don't you think we will need this stuff? I mean, since someone wants these jewels, we might as well do something about it. If we buy different clothes, from different times, we can fit in completely, so people won't suspect a thing!

-I guess we might get one.

-Yeah... With the dress I'm wearing right now, I'd be called a whore, whenever I go.

He laughed while brushing his hand on his hair. He took off his jacket and gave it to me, to cover my open back.

-There, you won't be called a whore now, would you?

-I suppose,- I smirked a little. I felt happy to time travel with someone. I didn't feel alone or uncomfortable with Andrew at all. He was very nice and sweet to me. (except when we fight)

We visited a store that basically offered a whole makeover for 5 dollars! That was so cheap! I mean, it was cheap for me, because I know people used to get 15 – 20 dollars as a salary. There I got a nice silk dress, in baby blue, with the shoulder area puffed. It had a red ribbon tied at the waist, and they also tied a red ribbon at my hair, putting them in a low pony. They made my hair with big heavy curls, which looked vintage. The whole makeover made me feel like a princess. I was so happy. The girl, who was doing my hair looked very curious for some time. After a while she got the courage to ask:

-H-h-hi miss! I know it's very rude of me, but can I ask where did you buy the dress you were wearing?

-Oh, that's not rude at all!- I said, giving her a warm smile,- I got it... at... ah, I got it made especially for me. Do you like it?

She nodded with a shy look.

-You can have it,- I smiled.

-Oh...no no no no no no no, it's ok. Really. People here think I'm not supposed to design things like that.

-You design?!- I said in shook.

-Ah, yes. I have done a couple of dresses, but others don't like them.

-Do you mind showing them to me?- I asked in full curiosity,- Also, I never asked for your name...

-It's Maya Plenten,- she smiled while giving me some pictures,- here are the dresses...

Wait, Maya Plenten?!?!?! The best designer ever?? Oh my god! She is soooooo popular. There's no one that doesn't know her. She's practically an old millionaire right now, living her best life. After I saw the pictures, I was shocked. Those dresses were so pretty. I encouraged her to keep going, and we somehow became really good friends.

After finishing the whole treatment, I went outside to see Andrew as well changed, into those clothes that dads would wear. He had beige pants along with a dark green shirt, He looked handsome with the new vintage hairstyle along with those brown vintage shoes.

-How do I look, Andy?

-Oh so now I have a nickname too?

-Well, since you gave me one too, I figured I will call you Andy! It's cute right?- and with that I smiled brightly, going closer to him, in a playful manner. He licked his lips, and brushed his hair back while turning the other way. Did he do that because he was offended? I hope not.

Then we took a chill walk on the streets. There were two or three bookstores, but all of them were closed. Looking around, I saw all those people, and they looked poor. Andrew and I still stood out, since our clothes were expensive, while others were dressed in rags. It was a depressing thing to see. Even though they looked poor, they were very happy, and that eased my mind a little.

Mostly, it was quiet with Andrew, and after we spend some time there, we decided to try and go back. It would be very hard, but we've done it before, so I'm confident we can go to the present again.
