22.

Walking slowly down the stairs, I could see the air flowing through the whole room, giving summer vibes. Not pleasant ones though. As I was walking down, I could spot Andrew's face shocked and his eyes watery. He turned at me:

-We have to see what happened...

I nodded in response, but still scared. Who knows, maybe the person who did that was still hiding here. As we took yet another step, I spotted some leaves, which were stopped mid-air. That only meant that time had stopped. Andrew seemed to have the same thoughts too. I didn't do it, and he for sure didn't. So, who did?

Scared again, I took his hand, and went upstairs as fast as I could. I took him to the last room on the hall, since it would be harder for them to find us. Or at least, that would give us some plan to escape. Entering the room and closing the door as slowly as I could, I turned to Andrew, who was still shocked. I knew he was shooked, so I had to help.

I grabbed both of his hands and talked to him slowly, trying to calm him down.

-It's ok. We can get out of this. We just need to do something.

-We can't leave the dead person here, can we?! It could potentially be still alive, or it could be my family, or yours, or just anyone for that matter! - He talked while taking deep breaths, trying to calm himself down. I looked at him again, with reassurance that everything was going to be ok.

-We can time travel-

I heard steps. More exactly, heals. It was a woman. She was approaching us slowly, and I could feel her humming a song.

-We have to go fast! - I whispered, trying to see his reaction.

-Ok, let's go.

Concentrating again, trying so hard, to go somewhere. It didn't matter where. Just some place we were safe. I could feel her approaching us. She was closer and closer with every second that was passing by. My heartbeat was going so fast, I thought I couldn't make it. No. I had to do this much for Andrew! I tried harder and harder, until I saw the white tornado, approach us, once again. I felt glad. We were leaving, when I heard, the door open.

Luckily, it was too late for her. The moment she opened the door, we were gone. I looked around, and saw Andrew, feeling all kind of emotions.

We were still holding hands so I took him outside. The house looked somewhat old, so I was guessing we were in the past.

-Let's go for a walk, - I said calmly.

We went outside, and I didn't hear a single word from Andrew. He was still shocked. I took him to the lake. There, we sat down and just stayed quiet for some time.

-Look, Andrew, its ok to feel sad, and it's ok to cry. You don't need to hide the pain anymore. Not with me. We are going to find out who's doing this, and why. Together.

-Are you that confident, Madds?- he said letting out a blunt smile, while his eyes still held sadness.

-I am.

Taking some time, we got up, seeing that the sun was replaced by the bright moon. We didn't talk much, as we enjoyed the comfort of silent. After we got up, we decided to find a place to spend the night.

We choose to look around for a hotel. We found a pretty popular one at the time. Entering the grand hotel, the receptionist looked at us, with a warm smile:

-Hi! How may I help you?

-Good evening, we need two rooms for tonight, I said trying to seem serious enough.

-Sure thing!-she said while taking two different keys, and offering them to us, - Here you go! That would be 10€. Would you like to proceed?

Damn, that was so cheap. The problem was that I only had 5€ 50cents. I looked at Andrew and he seemed to only have 2€ on his pockets.

-Umm, would it be ok, if we payed a deposit tonight, and the rest of the money at checkout?- I asked hoping she would say yes.

-I apologize, but that would be against our rules miss.

I looked at Andrew, trying to find a solution. We had to stay the night, because going into the present wasn't safe yet. I moved a little closer to him and whispered:

-We can get one room with two beds.

-Ohhhh is that so?!- He smirked awakening his flirty personality.

-Oh, shut up! - I giggled while taking a step forward, - What if we take one room with two beds?

-That would be 7 euro's miss.

-Perfect! We'll take that!
