"Why does he need to come with you?" Soobin was infront of Hueningkai in a heartbeat, defensive towards the maid. He literally just found out Hueningkai survived the car crash and his family was dangerous, he was NOT about to let him go alone with someone who could be the mole.
"Oh it's nothing bad really, your uncle just wanted to meet him! Yeonjuns father has talked so much about your visit here and how you finally made a friend so he was interested!" The maid seemed excited.
Soobin was intrigued, his other uncle, the older brother of yeonjun's dad, as in the uncle that he has lived with for 6 years now. Wanted to meet his friend out of nowhere?
"I'll go too then. We can have lunch together." Soobin smiled and took hueningkais hand, following the maid.
Hueningkai was kind of excited to have another lunch with soobins family, his aunt had been so nice and funny and the food was SO good. He couldn't wait to see what his aunt was like.
"YAH! Yeonjun....what did we agree on..." Beomgyu threw a sock at yeonjun who was still on the bed.
Yeonjun had lost rock paper scissors over whether they ignore or address the mole situation today. He was pretty butthurt.
"Oh just take your shower I have something else I'm thinking about." Yeonjun threw the sock back and Beomgyu dodged, going back into the bathroom to shower.
I should just flat out ask him what our relationship is. He's kissed me twice. That's gotta count for something. Say he likes me, then I just have to ask him out and he stays, boom. Problem solved. Yeonjun nodded to himself, agreeing on his plan.
Yeonjun stared at the bathroom door, zoning out on trying to guess when beomgyu would finish showering, he was blown out of his thoughts when a half naked beomgyu came out of the door quickly, soaking wet still.
"Done already?" Yeonjun jumped at how fast beomgyu left the bathroom and why he hadn't gotten dressed before coming out.
"I finished early....big unidentified bug in shower..looked like roach....no." beomgyu said with wide eyes.
Yeonjun laughed and went over to the boy, moving his wet hair from his face and grabbing a towel to dry it, totally not distracted by beomgyus exposed torso.
Beomgyu watched yeonjun with adorable big eyes. Yeonjun was being so cute drying his hair and all. He finally stopped thinking about the mole.
Yeonjun took this as his one chance. Staring into beomgyus eyes, he tried but his rehearsed words wouldn't leave his mouth.
He couldn't speak so he decided to act, gently pinning beomgyu to the wall and giving beomgyu a loving look, hoping he'd understand his question from just his eyes.
Yeonjun dived in, kissing Beomgyu like his life depended on it, engulfing his bare shoulders with his hands.
Beomgyu was thrilled having yeonjun making a move confidently, like he was staying his feelings instead of saying them.
Yeonjun savored the kiss and was reluctant when his lips left beomgyus. Beomgyu had unknowingly tried to reconnect the kiss, his eyes stayed closed.
"What are we?" Yeonjun asked when beomgyu opened his eyes.
"Do you usually kiss your friends?" Beomgyu gawked.
Yeonjun laughed slightly, taking this as confirmation. "Then I can introduce you as my proper lover? Not a toy? Prisoner?" Yeonjun smiled towards beomgyu, who returned an equal wide smile hearing the word 'lover'.
"Lover sounds nice."
"You'll love him he's got the best jokes and he isn't all prim and proper like the rest of my family!" Soobin smiled, only making Hueningkai more excited.
The maid opened the door to the dining room where lunch was prepared with his two uncle's and aunt the table.
"Soobin! Hueningkai! Welcome!" His aunt said enthusiastically hugging kai, happy to see him again. Hueningkai returned the hug equally as happy, but his face soon fell with fear as he recognized soobins other uncle.
The man who had taken Hueningkai and Beomgyu from the street. The one who sold them off to the mafias. He was soobins uncle?!!
He shook with fear, he obviously recognized Hueningkai but said nothing. Was he working for both mafias? A peace agreement? To sell people to both?
"Hueningkai what's wrong?" Soobin grew worried seeing Hueningkai trembling.
"Oh so this is soobins friend!!! It's so nice to meet you!" His uncle stood and shook hueningkais hand firmly. Hueningkai could feel a note slip into his sleeve. He took it discreetly.
They sat down to have lunch together, and boy what an awkward lunch it would be.
"Tonight?" Taehyun said, preparing his own vest. "Yes, I'm only letting you come along because they'll probably attack our house to get you if we get discovered. It would be safer with me." Taehyuns father said.
"I'll give you one more run down okay? We go in, there will be members from both mafias there most likely planning a sneak attack, our only target is beomgyu and Hueningkai if possible, we injure no innocent people and we arrest anyone who pulls a gun on an officer. Understand?"
Taehyun nodded, he got to finally rescue his friends. He couldn't wait to see them again. He hoped they were alive and well.
Hueningkai had finished with his lunch a bit later than he wanted, they had talked so much that it had been 2 hours already!! He wanted to read the note so badly.
"Excuse me, I have to use the restroom." Hueningkai bowed and took his leave quickly to the bathroom outside of the diningroom.
He opened the letter in silence, wishing he had never opened it.
'complete the job by 7:00 or I'll kill everyone myself.'
Hueningkai couldn't breathe. The world was really ending for him tonight. He lost either way. How would he do this?
He ran from the bathroom, not bothering to go back to the diningroom since it was already 6:48 he couldn't look at soobin knowing he'd kill him soon. He just couldn't.
He crouched outside near his bush, hidden. He had no where to go, no options, so he only cried and prayed that 7:00 would never come.
He felt a strong hand grip his shoulder from the hole in the bush where he snuck in and out.
"You got my letter then?" The familiar voice made Hueningkai want to vomit.
The old man stepped through the hole, glad that he had Hueningkai as a mole because he couldn't see anyone of his men fitting through that hole daily.
"I've brought you your gun and a suit and mask. They're black so that when the sun goes down soon you can be invisible. The gun has one bullet, you kill soobin and my men can get the others shortly after. I'll go through the plan with you."
"Its getting dark, shouldn't Hueningkai be back from the bathroom?" Soobin was concerned for how long Hueningkai had been gone. He was thinking that he would confess tonight but since Hueningkai always left before sundown he was worried he may not have time. Lunch had turned into dinner as well.
"Oh darling you'll only embarrass him, he may be having bowel problems leave him be." His aunt tssked to soobin.
Hueningkai was now in a black helmet and black turtleneck, with black gloves, black loose pants so he could move freely along the balcony rim. He prayed that he didn't lose balance. He had his scope set dead on soobin. The balcony door was open, soobin was right in sight. All he had to do was pull the trigger.
"What are you waiting for shoot kid." One of the mafia members he snuck in was hiding behind him with a knife waiting to rush anyone who came out of the diningroom to stop Hueningkai.
"I can't..." Hueningkais voice cracked and he lowered his gun.
"What do you mean you can't??!" The member said trying to convince Hueningkai before he got them both in trouble with the old man.
"I can't kill him..."
A loud shot flew through the air and hit Kai's thigh with a painfully suppressed scream.
"WHATS GOING ON WHY DID YOU SHOOT?!" soobin got scared when his uncle stood and had fired his gun out the balcony.
"The mole, your uncle was expecting him to show up tonight, take this you took shooting lessons for hunting, same applies." His aunt quickly handed soobin a gun and flipped the table over to act as a shield. Soobin worried for Hueningkai but right now people were attacking outside so soobin would find Hueningkai later.
"ALERT MY SON." his aunt screamed to a maid who went running.
"Was that a gunshot?!" Beomgyu sat up from the bed quickly pausing their movie. Yeonjun knew without a doubt that was a gunshot before the maid even came bursting through the door, he knew.
