{I'm an Alchemist, not a ninja!} (Full metal alchemist x Naruto crossover)

Hello everyone that reads this strange (yes it's kinda weird) wattpad story. And I've decided to do something a bit different this chapter. Basically what I'll be doing is explaining our little protag Ryūko Sainō.

I'll be explaining her relationships with others and who they are, her place in the military in the FMA universe and her place in the Naruto universe, as well as the overall timeline of her life that we have down so far.

So this chapter will really be something that's for information that is written down and exists so far, so if you don't want some more background information and just more knowledge about this story, then you can skip this chapter, no need to be pressured!

So, how about we just do another quick overview to start us off! (Damn I sound like a teacher—)

Ryūko Sainō is a state Alchemist at the age of 15, yet put into a more 12 year old body when she gets put into the Naruto universe. She is the oldest of the three daughters of Mrs and Mr Sainō. A State Alchemist, serving under Roy Mustang. Capable of many forms of alchemy, out of skill and being a born genius of it, she can also do alchemy without using a transformation circle if desired.

Now, let's recap parts of her background in more detail to understand it more.

Now let's hop back a little bit about the profit part of her alchemy. Because she was extremely good at it, she was trained by her father. This was partly because she was surrounded by it her whole life. She had a higher IQ then most kids her age as well as most of the books and papers were all about alchemy. Ed and Al was also so deep in it that it just made her dive deeper into alchemy. In full circle, she was raised on it like if it was her own flesh and blood.

Now we get onto the part where her mother, Maemi Sainō, has problems. Even before Ryūko and her siblings where born the two had some problems. It wasn't anything like an arranged marriage, it was his job that got in the way. It started three years before Ryūko was born that Nobuo was pulled extremely deep into the military with jobs. He now didn't come home every day, never the less with no wounds in general unless it was just an info mission. He ended up neglecting her more then normal, starting the wave of neglected abuse that formed into this family. And once Ryūko showed signs of being an alchemy wiz, Maemi shinned that neglect Nobuo showed her onto the six year old.

Her two siblings didn't have it though, they got all the love from the mother. The family was split in half, that's what it comes down to. And as it's said, most of her very young years she had her nose in an alchemy book 24/7. There's really nothing to add to that other then her father was on an extremely long military trip and wasn't home. Now this gets to Ed and Al's mother. She served as a parent figure for Ryūko when her father wasn't around. So when she did die, and she helped out with Ed and Al to revive her, she felt like it was a huge burden and wanted to help. And because of that, the three lost body parts or a whole body.

Now this part is quite a bigger part. During this small recovery stage with Ryūko and the two boys, which lasted a whole week before they thought of getting automail arms. The first three arms were painful and quite, nothing truly happened except laying in bed. And even because Roy came and saw everything he didn't give her a thought at the time. Now, after a week, Ryūko's mother had come for a visit. Winry's grandmother had consulted Ryūko's mother who ended up yelling at her and demanding for her daughter to go back home. But, Winry's grandmother didn't agree and never spoke to her again.

This was mainly because she understood that Ryūko was in a neglected abuse with her mother, as well as she got yelled at. This was all in front of the armless Ryūko.

Now, let's skip just a bit to after Ryūko was a State Alchemist. This was when she started running into some of the Homunculi. Now! I wanna add some smaller notes on why I made Ryūko the way I portrayed her in this fanfic.

So first off, I've been on Wattpad for a while (just means more then a year) and I have read plenty of stories on here. Not just fan fictions but also stories of people right that are unique and new, and I like those a lot. But while I am reading any of these, there is a certain type of person, male or female or whatever they go by, that don't seem to show up as much as I thought it would. Now I'm not saying that's a bad thing, I just felt like there should be more of these kind of people. So that's really how I started basing her personality and background off.

Now let's start off with her basic character design. I didn't want something to stand out so much that it would seem like a kind of bad writing trope or just something bad for a story in general, but I didn't want it to be too bland like protagonists can usually be. And at the time I was re-watching FMA because I was writing this and I wanted to make sure I had things right. And when I was, I saw that there weren't as many blind people as you might've expected One first watching it. Some people have naturally dyed hair others have different haircuts and some have different types of body shapes or armor. There was a big variety.

No I want to incorporate that side FMA without going to overboard. I didn't wanted to seem like they stood out the most. But I could also take into consideration what the Naruto worlds characters look like. Since this was going to take place there as well, I could add an element of it. So after just a bit of thinking and working with certain things, the appearance was done and I liked how it was. It's not too natural and bland and it's not too abstract in popping out, the thing that really stands out is probably just her automail arms. 

So now I needed to think of some kind of personality. Not only did I still have to take is thought of the FMA universe as well as Naruto. I was gonna change things over time (maybe some foreshadowing) with personality traits or reactions to things. I didn't need more hyper people but I didn't need any more emo people (mainly cause I can't always write them correct). So after some small thinking and I just decided to make a character's personality like Shikamaru and Kiba. So blending thing together, as well as shaping things because I her home life. It was a little bit annoying to me, personally.
