Ryūko's POV:

"Hold up. Why are you the only two here?"

Ichiro and Rei looked at each other, shrugging, and looking back at me. I sighed, tapping my foot and rubbing my temples.

"Maybe Yamato is sick," Rei said.

"Well I should know that, I'm gonna go check on him."

"But Ryūko Sensei, you're not his mom," Rei commented.

"But I'm his sensei, and I would like to know if he's skipping or actually sick," I replied, "You two can come with me and skip today's training, and if you want you can come with me to visit a buddy of mine in the hospital."

"Your friend? Did he get sick?" Ichiro asked as the three started walking out of the ground.

"Well, during the preliminary exams he broke his left arm and leg," I replied.

"I see," Rei said from my left while Ichiro was by my right.

"Where does Yamato live?" I asked.

"Over here," Rei pulled on my hand.

We took a right, walked a little bit, and then took a left. And once we got to a building, it was an apartment. I walked over, knocking on the door. After a couple seconds the door opened, someone that looked like an older female Yamato stood there.

"Hello?" She asked.

"Hey, I'm Ryūko Sainō, Yamato's trainer for his team. Might he be sick and just missing today?" I asked.

She blinked as someone's foot steps were quickly making their way to the doorway.

"Ryūko Sensei!"

I almost jumped, feeling arms wrapped around my legs. I looked down, seeing Yamato there.

"Well, I see you're finally out of the house," I commented, squatting to his level.

"Sorry, Ryūko Sensei, I forgot what time it was," Yamato replied.

"You made us worry, Yamato, especially Ryūko Sensei!" Rei explained, letting go of my hand and slapping Yamato's shoulder.

Yamato stuck out his tongue, giving Rei a slap back. Ichiro just stood there as Yamato's mom continued to talk to me.

"He really isn't a bother, ma'am," I smiled, "Yamato's a good kid, not to mention a good ninja for his age."

"But shouldn't you take a day off? You have been training these three for over a week, almost two. Don't you have to train?" Yamato's mom, named Ai, asked.

I shook my head, "Nope, these three are my squad for now, and I am their teacher. And because of that I'll treat them like family."

I separated Yamato and Rei before standing it out, continuing.

"We're having a small break to visit a buddy of mine in the hospital," I added.

"Well if you need a break I can take Yamato back," Ai explained.

I chuckled, "Trust me, Yamato is the most tolerable out of these three."

Rei scoffed at that as Ichiro crossed his arms. I said goodbye to the woman before starting off again with all my students.

"Ryūko Sensei?" Ichiro spoke up.

I looked down, "Yes, Ichiro?"

"Did you mean what you said?"

I choked an eyebrow because of what he said.

"About what, Ichiro?" I asked.

"That you'll treat us like family even when you'll only be our trainer for a month?" Ichiro asked.
