It felt like falling.
The warp gate.
And when it closed you thudded down onto concrete.

Your eyes were half-lidded, but still you felt the presence of others surrounding. Their bodies made creases in the air, caused the nitrogen to bend.

Sometimes, when you really focused, you could feel the oxygen entering the lungs of people around you.

Right now, you felt the ragging chaos. The constant high pitched ringing paired with the feeling that some bodies around you weren't breathing at all...

"GET UP!"

Your eyes snapped open, a gasp escaping your chest as the ringing in your ears ceased to a halt.

Pushing yourself upright, you realized you'd been teleported to one of the city districts in the USJ.

Up high. Inside one of the buildings maybe.

Villains were everywhere. And everyone of them was gunning for you.

Sitting up as quickly as you could, you were met with the sight of Kirishima and Bakugo standing on either side of you.

And they were fighting like their life depended on it.

Through a tangled mess of hair, you gazed up at Bakugo over your shoulder.

He may have been a boy of a man when he was throwing his tantrums and yelling for no reason.
But right now he looked... like the person he wanted to be.

Using his power, he blasted oncoming attackers like they were nothing.

Dust fell from the ceilings from the impact, the sheer sound of his explosions causing you to flinch backwards.

Eventually, it all quieted down.

"I think that's the last of these guys." Bakugo announced, treading the room full of knocked out bodies. "Bunch of weaklings." He grumbled, checking to make sure they were all actually down.

You couldn't keep your eyes off him.

"Y/n!" Kirishima ran over and kneeled down. "Are you okay?"

The sweet boy was careful to un-harden his arm before laying a comforting touch to both your shoulders.

You nodded, wincing slightly.

Kirishima didn't fail to notice the blood trickling from your ears.

But Bakugo did.

And he was more angry at you more than anything right now.

Growling, he pushed Kirishima off of you and grabbed the collar of your costume.

Your quirk raged as soon as his red eyes got so close they were all you could see.

"Who the hell are these guys!?" Bakugo yelled. "How do they know you!?"

"Dude! Calm down!" Kirishima jumped to your defense, grabbing him.

"Get off me!" Bakugo tugged his arm from Kirishima's hold and looked back into your eyes.
They were glossed over, lost in something he didn't understand.

It caught him off guard. Because for once, even if it wasn't purposeful, you seemed entirely vulnerable.

Sighing, he slowly let the fabric of your suit go and let you return to your knees.

As your head drooped down, Bakugo crouched down and lifted your chin to meet his gaze.

"They know your name." He said. "So tell us why."

"They're here for All Might. Not fo me." You whispered.

"That warp bastard tried to take you." He growled in return. "If we hadn't been holding on he would've separated you from us. So why are you so important to them?"

You swallowed, your lips twitching at the memories.

"I don't know."

"That's a lie."

Baring your teeth, you grabbed Bakugo's wrist and shoved his hand away from you.

"They took me when I was little, okay!?" You yelled. "Endeavor and Aizawa saved me. Shigaraki was only a child like me, but I KNOW its him." You shook thinking back to how he'd betrayed you all those years ago. All the pain him and his master put you through. "Kurogiri was there too. That's why he remembers me."

You looked away from Bakugo's blank face as you finally told the only lie you thought necessary. "That's all I know."

"It's alright y/n." Kirishima's comforting voice treaded closer. "That's plenty to go on. Let's hurry and find the rest of our class."

He could tell this was painful for you. He didn't want one of his classmates and new friends to go through that again.

But Bakugo wasn't listening to him.
He was just looking at you.
The more he knew about this incredibly irritating, confusing person... the more he wanted to understand what could have possibly happened to put such sadness in your eyes.

Kirishima started planning, "If the three of us are still in the USJ then everyone else probably is too. We gotta make sure they're safe. Especially since we screwed things up when we got in the way earlier. If Thirteen had been able to suck up that villain, than we never would've gotten separated like that and Y/n would be safe with Todoroki."

Bakugo's anger returned with that last sentence.

"She's just as safe with us as she is with him!" He yelled, snapping upright. "You wanna track everyone down have fun," His eyes flickered down to you for a moment, before he finished, "but I'm gonna destroy that warp bastard. That hand kid too."

"Huh!? Our physical attacks didn't hurt that guy. C'mon, don't be an idiot, man."

"Shut up! I'm gonna take him down because he's there way in and out. If I cut him off they won't be able to take her!"

A bit taken aback that Bakugo actually cared about anyone but himself, he sort of just blinked.

He always acted as if you were the biggest inconvenience in his life. Why would he want to protect you now.

Bakugo noticed his slip-up after Kirishima was silent for a few seconds.

"An-and they'll have to pay for what they've done!" He stuttered.
"We'll just have to figure it out."

You still hadn't moved since earlier. Bakugo noticed your hands crumpling your pants into fists. He also noticed how you were still looking down, your chest rising and falling without hollowness.

"Hey." He said, waiting for you to look up at him again to speak. "Be scared of your past all you want. You're not allowed to give up or get taken by some two bit villains till I've beaten you in combat. You hear me, headset?"

If you could've known what it felt like when Deku looked up at Katsuki when they were children, you would've known that feeling before he said those words.

Blinking up at him in confusion of who this person Bakugo was letting out, you nodded, rising to your feet, and wiping at the sides of your face with your sleeve.

Feeling your strength return, you returned to being who you were.
Analytical. Goal oriented.
Panic was pushed aside as you remembered you had to make sure Shoto and the rest of your class was safe. You had to be who the number two hero trained you to be.

"If you want to beat Kurogiri you have to go for his neck." You said, "Because of his quirk, any condition I change doesn't affect his body. But around his neck, he's got metal armor. If I can pull some of the carbon links from it and pull it back into the air, then it should be weak enough for you two to destroy."

Kirishima and Bakugo smiled at your words deviously.
Some sense of pride rising in your return.
Some sense of deviousness as they got ready for battle.
