Chapter Twenty One: Suspension

Desire trudged along the sidewalk gripping his bag. Sprinkle skipped along side him, "oh lighten up Desire! Schools going to be great you'll see!" Desire sighed, "if only I could believe that..." Sprinkle smiled at him as they approached an open gate. There were already students roaming the courtyard waiting for class to start. Sprinkle stopped in his tracks causing Desire to stop and look at him, "what is it?"

Sprinkle shook his skull, "ah it's nothing. Let's just get inside before we become suspicious." Desire smirked before following Sprinkle into the school. Sprinkle slowed to walk beside Desire, "so what classroom is it?" Desire sighed, "two hundred and one, it should be down that hallway." Sprinkle nodded and turned down a hallway glancing at room numbers.

Finally, he stopped at an open door. To the side was a box with a sticker reading '201'. Desire's grip on his bag's straps grew tighter as he drew in a breath, "welp we're here..." Sprinkle smiled, "great! Let's go then!"

Sprinkle entered the classroom and immediately stopped. He looked around unsure of what to do. Desire motioned to a woman sitting behind a desk before he parted to sit down in a seat. Sprinkle walked over to the woman and cleared his 'throat'. The woman looked up from her computer, a smile formed onto her face as she looked at him, "oh! You must be Sprinkle! It's so nice to meet you! You can take a seat next to Desire. He's the skeleton boy over in the corner." Sprinkle nodded and thanked her before walking over and sitting next to Desire.

Desire seemed to be nervous. Sprinkle looked over at him, "what's the matter?" Desire fiddled with his hands, "that's someone else's seat..." Sprinkle could barely hear him mumbling. Sprinkle sighed, "well, I don't think that'll be a problem." He had a mischievous grin on his face.

Another student then stomped into the room. They were burly and definitely looked like they could take someone out in a heartbeat. Their sinister eyes were locked on Sprinkle. Desire slid back in his seat trying to hide himself as the student stomped closer.

Sprinkle smiled up at them, "I'm sorry is there problem?" The student practically snarled as they spoke, "yeah theres a problem you're in my seat!" Sprinkle's smile didn't falter, "oh well you must be mistaken sir, the kind lady up there told me to sit here." Sprinkle watched as the anger grew on the students face, "you better get out of my seat before this gets serious brat!"

Sprinkle giggled, "me a brat? That's silly! Clearly you're the entitled one. Thinking you can come and kick me out of a seat just because you've sat in it before. I'm sorry but I'm following directions, if you want to get serious then so be it. I have no problem with that!" The student was ready to reply but got interrupted by the teacher, "Fredrick your seat is over here by my desk, now stop bothering other students and sit down!"

Fredrick mumbled something and stomped over to a desk before collapsing in the seat. Desire sighed, "Sprinkle you've gotten yourself into a huge mess." Sprinkle smiled and opened his notebook as the teacher began the lesson, "oh it's nothing I can't get myself out of. I've been taught how to handle incompetent people like 'Fredrick'."

Desire stayed silent and began writing in a notebook. He would occasionally glance over at Sprinkle who still had a smile on his face. For some reason he felt as if this day was going to go differently now that Sprinkle was here.

The teacher set down the ruler and clapped her hands together, "well! It's time for lunch! Line up single file everyone, I heard it's good today!" Every student in the classroom was quick on their feet and all lined up behind the door.

Sprinkle pulled Desire to the back of the line. Desire looked at Sprinkle, "what are you doing?" Sprinkle narrowed his eyelights, "keeping eyes on the target." Fredrick glared back at Sprinkle before following the line out of the door. Sprinkle pulled Desire behind him. Before they reached what was to be assumed as the lunchroom Sprinkle pulled Desire away from the line. Desire sighed, "what is it now?"
