I love how when I first started this book the titles were somewhat normal, then it all descends into insanity

this is literally the dumbest thing I have ever written so far (help i have writer's block and having art block at the same time doesn't really make anything better)

plainly short, but yeah, enjoy nonetheless

"I'll be back tomorrow, Hanako-kun." Nene stepped out of the bathroom, as the ghost boy accompanied her to the school gates. The sun was about to set, and everyone else had already gone home.

"You be careful on your way back, okay?" He patted her head with a smile. "Don't want to have my radish assistant to get hurt, after all!"

"I'm not a radish!" She huffed angrily, pouting. All Hanako did was laugh and squish her cheeks like he would.

"Alright, alright! See you tomorrow, Yashiro." He let go and watched as Nene waved goodbye and finally left the school grounds.

She turned her head back a little, seeing him return back into the building, his figure fading into the air and manifesting back into the bathroom through the window. A question began to nag in her mind, something she hadn't considered before.

Was he lonely there, all by himself?

Hanako had said before that things were at least lively before he met her, but she couldn't help but think it wasn't the case. She caught a glimpse of what looked like to be a lonely glimmer in his eyes everytime she would go home for the day.

She couldn't even imagine how hard it was for him to be there all alone.

It reminded her too much of that time, seeing him on his own, in tears, injured, with nothing but the curtains to hide in.

I hope I could do something to cheer him up.

Then, an idea crept up.

It was silly at first, but it might be worth it in the end.

Hopefully.

Nene had been acting little odd for the past few days, as Hanako had noticed. At one point, she had been insisting on going home earlier to do "something important", as she would tell him. She had also been somewhat distant, and spaced out most of the time.

To add to that, he noticed a bandage or two wrapped around her fingers. When he asked her about it one time, she just waved it off with a smile, telling him "Don't worry about it!"

When she put it like that, Hanako was worried beyond words.

What was she up to this time?

Right now, he was hovering up in the air, near his favorite spot by the window, keeping a close eye on the working girl in front of him. She hadn't said a single world since coming for the usual toilet cleaning work, and it unnerved him.

He also took note as more days passed by, the bandages around her fingers kept getting added, to the point her hands looked mummified in some weird way. He didn't like how it hindered him from feeling her palm against his, and how he almost couldn't feel her comforting warmth on his cold skin.

Call him weird, but getting to feel her warmth everytime they touched brought him some happiness to some extent.

"Yashiro." He spoke, startling her as she almost dropped the mop she was holding. She turned to him, wearing that same smile she had continuously been giving him for days.
