hi! if you came here for an update, then you're out of luck cuz this book's officially now complete! haven't been writing a lot for this a long time now, that's why the decision to mark this as completed came upon me.

but you'll still see more stuff from me soon. my other two hananene books aren't going anywhere just yet. and some exclusive AO3 stuff that I can't show here in wattpad. so don't be sad :)

as a genuine thank you gift, I'm just gonna put the unfinished previews and drafts of the oneshots that never saw the light is day (only God knows if I'll ever pick them up again)

(you might know this from a YT post I made, it's the fic I ghostwrote)

Kou stared at the apparition before him, his legs frozen, his ears filled with the jarring static in the air. Oh, how bad he wanted to believe it was all a lie, a hoax, a set-up, but he had to learn…

Things never really go the way you want to.

He could only stand there as Hanako gathered the still unconscious Nene into his arms. Her breaths were becoming weaker at the moment, and the tension was so strong, he could even hear his own rapid heartbeat thumping wildly in his chest.

“Why.” Somehow, Kou found his voice, and it trembled, brimming with a strong emotion he couldn’t even identify. “You told me… None of this mattered. Nothing mattered to you in the first place, so what changed? Why all of this?”
Hanako looked down at him from his place up at that tower, and to his surprise—

—he smiled. That goddamn smile.

“It’s simple.”

Kou felt the dread pierce through like a sharp blade digging through bone and flesh.

“I lied.”

(yokai au? idk lol)

He was dangerous, that's what he was. A dangerous creature, who wielded the power to easily break her like a tiny twig.

Yet for some reason, his touch was tender. That hand that patted her on the head, the mouth under the black fox mask that smiled right at her seemed to abolish any signs of murderous intent.

He never had any in the first place, anyway.

Nene tried to speak; tried to say her gratitude to him. She had to awknowledge the fact this strange, powerful yokai had taken the time to save even a mere human like her.

But before her mouth could utter any words, the boy had leaned forward—mask slightly tilting upwards to reveal a hint of golden eyes—and to her surprise, she felt his lips press on her cheek.

Her heart beat wildly against her chest, and unwillingly her cheeks became dusted with red. His lips brushed against her cheek for a few more seconds before he finally pulled away, his mask covering his face once more.

"Don't worry. That will keep you safe." He whispered, voice in a low octave. Nene blindly nodded, unable to take her eyes off him.

(thrown out sequel of the magical girl au)

"...You're kidding, right?"

"Does it sound like I'm joking?"

Hanako took this as a moment to ponder her question, before snapping his fingers and pointing at her.

"Nah."

Nene threw her hands up in the air. God, sometimes her boyfriend can be a total idiot, although he rather does it deliberately rather than unintentionally.

Still, the problem that demons had suddenly resurfaced back into reality lingered, and once again, the burden of saving the world lies in her hands.

If she was being honest, it was a total drag.

(assassin au, also never got fully developed)

Pulling the trigger, the ear-piercing noise of a bang resonated in the broken down building.

Amane could merely watch the body of the dreaded person slump down against the wall, bleeding to death. It was a sight he was used to, after so many lives he had taken.

No matter how hard he tried to wash that blood off his hands, they never seemed to stop coming back.

To hell with it, anyway.

(the mandatory beach episode)

Everyone laughed, it was hard not to when Amane found his twin eating sand right after tripping on his own feet trying to catch the ball that was rolling away.

"Tsukasa, you okay?!"

Tsukasa lifted his head back up, spitting out sand, grinning. "I'm okay! I think I swallowed a crab!"

Yikes. That was something their doctor might not be pleased to look at later.

(??? idk what I was going for, but this was for a weird au)

Hanako turned to Tsukasa, folding his hands together and in the most calm voice he can muster, asked,

"...Tsukasa?"

"Yeah?"

"Where's the door?"

Nene turned to where the supposed door was. Instead, a crudely drawn rectangle stood in its place, with a circle that suggested it was a doorknob.

It was even drawn in crayon, too. Huh.
