Jamie was cutting vegetables and things required for the dinner she was making. Rosa was out for dinner with her parents as she had chosen to come out to them tonight. Jamie was yet to hear from her Latina girlfriend so she took that as a good sign.
Just as that thought crossed her mind the front door to the apartment slammed shut.
"Rosa?" She called. She got a choked sob in response. She walked out the kitchen so she could see the door, but what she saw was the shaking frame of Rosa Diaz, sobbing harder than Jamie had ever seen her.
"Jay." Rosa whimpered, reaching out for her. "Hey babygirl." Jamie cooed, crouching beside the girl and pulling her into her arms. "They- they-" Rosa sobbed.
"Breathe little one." Jamie rubbed Rosa's back soothingly. Rosa took a few deep breaths and buried her head into Jamie's chest.
After a few moments of Rosa's near hyperventilation she was breathing normally. "Talk to me little one." Jamie said. Rosa sat up and looked at her. Her eyes were still welling with tears that fell silently down her cheeks. "Jake was there for moral support but I got too scared and told my parents that Jake and I were dating, but then Amy called and my dad saw the picture of her with her engagement ring and so he asked about it and I told them that Jake and Amy were engaged but they said that was ok and love was complicated and I was so nervous when I called the dinner that they thought I was gonna tell them I was gay but apparently they'd rather I was someone's mistress than be in a loving relationship with a woman." Rosa rambled talking a mile and minute before taking a deep breath and resting her head on Jamie's shoulder. "Aw babe." She reached up to run her hand through Rosa's hair. Rosa's phone vibrated in her pocket. She took it out and looked at it. "They invited me to games night. That means they must be ok with it." Rosa sat up and smiled slightly. Jamie gave a weak smile back. As much and she wanted Rosa's parents to accept her, they didn't seem like that kinda people. She just hoped her babygirl didn't get hurt.

Rosa slammed the door behind, entering the apartment with all the force of a hurricane. She growled and punched the wall. "You bust a hole in that wall I busy yo' ass." Jamie called from the kitchen. Rosa growled and punched the wall once more for good measure before walking to her girlfriend. "What happened?" Jamie asked, wiping her hands on a cloth as she walked over. "They think it's a fucking phase!" Rosa exclaimed, slamming her fist down on the counter. "They only accept it because they know there's a possibility I'll marry a guy." Rosa suddenly switched from being incredibly angry to being rather sheepish. "They want grandchildren and I don't know if I want that." Rosa mumbled fidgeting with her hands. "That's ok. You don't need to have kids if you don't want to." Jamie assured Rosa, pulling her into a hug. She pressed a kiss to Rosa's shoulder and smiled slightly when she felt Rosa place one on the crook of her neck. "I love you Rosie Diaz." She whispered. "I love you too Jay." Rosa smiled, kissing her girlfriend softly.

Later on that night, Rosa and Jamie were lying in bed, talking about everything a nothing but mainly about Rosa's parents reaction. "I mean I don't even know if I wanna have kids." Jamie had been listening to Rosa's mindless rambling for a hour now, nodding or agreeing when she had to. "But I also don't wanna know if I wanna marry a man." Rosa admitted. "What do you mean?" Jamie asked. "I mean I don't know if I wanna start all over again with someone new. Like if the opportunity came I think I'd wanna marry you." Rosa blushed, a rare occurrence not unnoticed but Jamie. "If the opportunity comes, I'd like that." Jamie smiled moving closer to her girlfriend and taking her hands in hers. Rosa smiled shyly. Jamie leaned forwards and connected their lips.

Jamie walked into the bullpen at the ninety ninth precinct, brown paper bag in hand. "Hey princess." She called to her girlfriend. Rosa looked up from her desk and blushed. "What are you doing here?" Rosa asked. "You left your lunch at home." Jamie replied, placing the bag on Rosa's desk. "I could've got something from the food cart outside." Rosa protested. "Your wallets on the nightstand, you wouldn't have eaten." Jamie smirked. Rosa sighed in defeated and mumbled a quick thanks to Jamie. Jamie grabbed her girlfriend by the waist and pulled her against her. Rosa blushed as she looked into Jamie's eyes. She pressed their lips together and for a moment neither girl cared that they were in the middle of a police precinct. That was until they heard a cat call from behind them. Rosa quickly pulled away to see the entire precinct stating that her. "What the hell did I just witness? Charles are you seeing what I'm seeing?!" Another detective squealed. "I did Jakey! Rosa's in love." The other detective replied. Rosa growled slightly at them. "Rosie behave." Jamie chided. "Amy Santiago, it's nice to meet you." Amy said holding out her hand. "Jamie McCallister. I'm surprised none of you remember me." Jamie chuckled, shaking Amy's hand. The entire squad furrowed their brows, it looked almost comical. "I was the primary nurse on Charles' care when he got shot. It's how I met Rosa." Jamie smiled, slipping her hand into Rosa's back pocket. "Oh I remember Jake kept interrupting you when you were trying to explain things." Charles said, suddenly realising. "Yeah that was me. I do however have to go, my shift starts in ten minutes." Jamie said, checking her watch. "You back shift today?" Rosa asked, kissing Jamie's cheek. "Yeah, back shift today and on call tomorrow." Jamie replied, mumbling the last part. "Noooooo." Rosa whined, much to the surprise of her colleagues. "I know baby girl, but I gotta go, love you!" Jamie said cheerfully, kissing the scar on Rosa's eyebrow before leaving the bullpen.
