Ryleigh stood in the kitchen of the apartment she shared with her girlfriend of three years, Victoria. It was pretty early in the morning and Ryleigh had had yet another sleepless night. Not that Victoria had came home anyway.
The front door slammed open with such force, Ryleigh thought it'd just about came off it's hinges. "Where are you bitch?" She heard Victoria hiss as she made her way into the kitchen. "Didn't think to make me anything then? Inconsiderate prick." Victoria growled, moving closer to Ryleigh, so close Ryleigh could smell the alcohol and drugs on her breath. "Answer me asshole." Victoria raised her right hand and slapped Ryleigh across the face. The shock of the sudden action caused Ryleigh to drop her coffee cup. "Clumsy idiot. You can clean that up after I'm done with you." Victoria smiled. Her smile wasn't kind or light-hearted. It wasn't the kind of smile you'd want to see from your girlfriend. It was cold and evil. She hooked a finger on the collar of Ryleigh's shirt, dragging Ryleigh to the bedroom by it. "You don't even object anymore. I've trained you so well." Victoria laughed, stroking her hand along Ryleigh's cheek before slapping her again.
Victoria continued to physically abuse Ryleigh while verbally berating her until she got bored. Taking the hand that had previously been delivering blows to Ryleigh's abdomin she grabbed the hem of Ryleigh's shirt and pulled it over her head, her other hand quickly going back to it's tight grasp of the other girls throat. Just as Victoria went to go further there was a knock at the door. Dismissing it as nothing she continued to try and remove the rest of Ryleigh's clothing.
"NYPD OPEN UP!" A voice called with a much harder knock at the door followed by the sound of the door bursting open and multiple pairs of feet crossing the threshold. Victoria quickly released her hold on Ryleigh, allowing her to drop to the ground as she sped from the room. "We got a runner. She's headed your way." Someone, Ryleigh could only assume to be a cop, called down her radio. She heard a heavy pair of boots against the floorboards. "We got her." Another voice crackled back through the radio. Ryleigh quickly grabbed her shirt as she heard the footsteps get closer to the bedroom door. Using the material to at least keep some of her dignity, she shielded herself from the gaze of the cop who peered into the bedroom. The cops eyes roamed around the room before landing on the corner where Ryleigh had taken refuge. The detective froze as her eyes settled on the girl. She slowly took at step towards Ryleigh, who backed further into the corner. The raven haired detective turned her head to talk into her radio. "Santiago, we got a situation."

Ryleigh sat beside the desk of the detective, who's name she had since learned was Rosa Diaz. Rosa had been nothing but nice to the girl, even allowing Ryleigh to listen to music on her phone when the bullpen had became too noisy. Rosa had explained that the 9-8 had flooded so there was twice the usual amount of people. Ryleigh sat, headphones in, knees curled up to her chest. The woman sat across from Rosa seemed to be bothering the detective so Ryleigh asked if multiple times if she was alright, and although Rosa multiple times told Ryleigh she was ok Ryleigh wasn't buying it. Rosa had gotten up to get coffee a few moments before leaving Ryleigh sitting at the desk, the papers to take Ryleigh's statement still sitting on the desk.

Rosa made her way around the crowds of people back to her desk to find out the vic, who's name she had learnt was Ryleigh, wasn't sitting there anymore. She walked over to Gina's desk, where Captain Holt was sitting to ask him if he knew anything about it. "Captain, do you know where the vic that was sitting at my desk is?" She asked, placing her hands on Gina's desk. "Yes. I asked Santiago and Peralta to take her into one of the interrogation rooms." Captain Holt replied, nonchalantly. "Lemme get this straight. You got two people who are not in uniform, that she doesn't know, to take an abuse vic into a dark room. Also let me add our vic is yet to speak a word to anyone." Rosa said, leaning towards the Captain. Captain Holt would be lying if he said he wasn't intimidated. He did however see the error of his ways as he sighed and told Diaz she could get the girl and take her statement here in the bullpen. Rosa walked as quickly as she could, avoiding the many people, towards the corridor where the interrogation rooms were. She looked into the first room she came to and breathed a sigh of relief when it contained Jake, Amy and Ryleigh. She opened the door. The first thing she noticed was the increasing annoyance obvious on Amy's face and the fear on Ryleigh's. "She won't talk. All she does is make this stupid sign." Amy grumbled. Rosa furrowed her brows. "Watch. We're you and Victoria in a romantic relationship.?" Amy asked. Ryleigh raised her right fist and bent her wrist forward, almost in a nodding action. Amy sighed. "Was Victoria violent with you?" Ryleigh repeated the action. "Those bruises are they from Victoria?" Ryleigh repeated the action a third time. "See! She doesn't do anything other than that." Amy rolled her eyes and put her pen down. "You idiot. She's answering your questions. She's using sign language. Ryleigh would it be easier for you to communicate through sign language?" Rosa asked, grabbing a chair from under Jake's arms and turning it so she could sit near to Ryleigh. Ryleigh nodded slightly, her fearful look relaxing slightly. "This is detectives Peralta and Santiago. They're gonna help with the case. You can trust them." Rosa's kind smile made Ryleigh want to trust her, however the other detectives confused faces made her wary. "Why are they so confused?" Ryleigh signed. Rosa looked at her colleagues and snapped her fingers in front of their faces. "I don't smile often." Rosa explained, turning back to face Ryleigh. "Let's get to work on taking your statement." Amy mumbled, her pen poised to write.

After the detectives had taken Ryleigh's statement she was sat back at Rosa desk. Rosa, Detective Santiago, Ryleigh, another man named Terry and two other people who's named Ryleigh didn't know, had briefly moved their desks and other things out onto the roof to escape the crowded bullpen before being caught by the Captain and having to move everything back inside. "Get back here you crap basket! You're going down!" Detective Peralta shouted as he ran into the bullpen chasing another detective. "Help! He's attacking me for no reason!" The other man proclaimed before being tackled by Peralta. Ryleigh jumped violently in her seat. "Stevie Schillens you have the right to remain-" Peralta was cut off by another smaller man who had also run in. "A loser." He said, smirking slightly. "Noice. But, now legally I have to start over, Charles. Steve Schill-" Peralta replied before being pushed to the side by another man. "Get off him we just made up!" Charles yelled, pulling the man off Peralta. Another man then body slammed Charles, taking him to the ground. "Paul?! I thought we had something?" Ryleigh watched on in terror as more people joined the fight. Santiago had someone in a chokehold, Peralta was still chasing the other cop around the bullpen and Charles was punching another man. Ryleigh looked around for Rosa. Spotting the other woman on the other side of the desk looking very angry, Ryleigh decided to step away. She backed up slowly towards the kitchen area of the bullpen. "Hey, Ellen. I got your farm girl." Rosa sneered, holding the fragile china figure in her hand. "You wouldn't." Ellen replied, eyes wide. Rosa threw the figure to the ground causing the pieces to shatter. Ryleigh flinched hard, nearly stumbling as she continued to back away from Rosa. Memories flashed before her eyes. Victoria breaking a bottle on her head. She couldn't feel the blood dripping down her forehead. Victoria throwing her head against the glass of their cabinet smashing it. Victoria throwing pictures to the ground. The yelling and shouting of the fighting in the bullpen becoming almost dull and the flashbacks took over. She subconsciously backed herself into a corner and crouched down, covering her ears with her hands. Her breathing quickened. She couldn't hear anything anymore. She let out a deafening scream. Long and shrill. The entire bullpen stopped fighting and turned to face the screaming woman. Rosa pushed her way through the crowd of people. She crouched a bit away from Ryleigh. "Ryleigh, it's ok. It's alright. You're safe here." Rosa reached out towards Ryleigh. Ryleigh flinched and backed herself further into the corner. "I promise it's alright Ry." Rosa smiled kindly and slowly reached her hand towards Ryleigh. Ryleigh flinched but slowly reached out towards Rosa and allowed herself to be pulled into the detectives arms.
