Ryleigh was up painting in the walls of her room. There was a thunderstorm outside so there wasn't a chance in hell she was sleeping. As she added the final touches to the rainbow she had been painting there was a flash of lightning and the low rumble of thunder. She jumped but swallowed down the anxiety as she continued painting. She heard a quiet whimper from somewhere inside the apartment. She wondered if it might've been Arlo before remembering the dog was lying sleeping at the foot of her bed. Dismissing it as nothing she put the finishing touches on the painting and put her things away. She sat on her bed and grabbed a book. Another flash of lightning and thunderclap made her drop the book.

Rosa sat on her bed, hands over her ears, covers over her head. She never did like storms. Most people she had been with told her to suck it up or just ignored when she was frightened.

Ryleigh quietly walked through the apartment to the door of Rosa's bedroom. She knocked twice.
Rosa jumped violently at the sound of someone knocking at her door. She knew it could only be Ryleigh but still it surprised her. Shakily, she got up and opened the door. "What's up? You ok?" She asked, her voice damn near breaking. "I'm alright. Are you?" Ryleigh signed. "I'm fine." Rosa plastered a fake smile across her face. Ryleigh was the only person she'd smile for, fake or not. "Rosa, we both know that's a lie. I know you're scared. I am too, how about we be scared together?" Ryleigh proposed. "Yeah sure." Rosa sighed, opening the door more so Ryleigh could walk inside. The two women lay side by side in Rosa's bed. The next flash of lightning had Rosa choking back a sob. Ryleigh turned to look at the girl, who had her eyes tightly shut and her hands over her ears. Ryleigh moved to wrap her arms around Rosa who buried her head into Ryleigh's chest.

A few minutes later and Rosa's soft snores could be heard throughout the room. Ryleigh kissed Rosa's forehead before closing her eyes and trying to get some sleep herself.

The next morning Ryleigh woke up with Rosa's arms wrapped around her torso. Not that she minded, if she was being honest she liked Rosa. She rolled over to face the other woman finding that she too was awake. "Sorry, did I wake you?" Rosa asked removing her arms from around Ryleigh. Ryleigh shook her head and smiled. Rosa glanced down at Ryleigh's lips. God how she wanted to kiss this girl. Ryleigh noticed this and moved closer to Rosa. "Ca- can I kiss you?" Rosa asked. Ryleigh nodded and leaned forward to connect their lips. Rosa was first to pull away, blushing profusely. Ryleigh smiled at the ravenette. "Ryleigh, I uh I like you." Rosa stuttered, looking everywhere except Ryleigh's face. Ryleigh silently giggled and signed "I like you too." Rosa's face lit up at this. "Do you like uh wanna be my girlfriend and shit?" She asked, nervously glancing at Ryleigh's face. Ryleigh nodded and wrapped her arms around Rosa's neck pulling them together once again.
