Terry stormed into the precinct, a stark difference from his usual cheery demeanour which had the entire squad wondering what could've possibly sent him into such a mood.

As the squad was taking their break, Terry's mood barely in their minds, Terry walked into the break room. "Hey Sarge, we felt really bad about moo moo so we got you a new one." Jake said, holding up a stuffed cow toy. "She's called new moo."
"I don't want it." Terry told them. "Ugh, that laison application got you don't?" Amy asked sincerely. "I finished that." Terry said snappishly. "I know. There's nothing sadder then finishing a nice, long, juicy application. It's like why can't their be another essay or even a short answer?" Amy chuckled, as Jake looked on lovingly. "No one is relating to you right now. What's wrong?" Rosa said. "I got stopped by a cop last night." Terry replied. "Stopped for what?" Rosa asked. "Stopped for walking."
"That makes zero sense unless.. Oh crap. I see what happened."
"Yeah." Terry nodded.
"Sarge, that terrible." Jake said. "That's so messed up." Amy added. "Oh jeez. I have no idea what's going on." Scully said, from the couch. "He got stopped for being black. Get woke Scully." Hitchcock chided, from beside him. "What happened?" Jake asked. "It was right after I found moo moo." Terry said, proceeding to explain his encounter with the other cop. "Well did you tell him you're a cop?" Jake suggested. "I tried to, but things escalated so quickly and I didn't have my badge on me. I eventually told him, and he finally looked me up in the system and let me go." Terry told them. "I can't believe this! I mean nothing like that has ever happened to me, and I've done some pretty suspicious things in the street." Jake proceeded to tell the squad of a time he was breaking into a friends house, in a hockey mask, when he got asked what he was doing by a cop. He told them he was playing a prank on a friend and they let him continue. "It was a very good prank. I totally thought I was gonna die." Charles confirmed the story. "Yeah cause you're white. Shit like this don't happen to white people." Jade said, from her perch atop the bumper pool table. "Yeah, our system of broken." Jake nodded. "No it ain't." Jade argued, causing everyone to look at her, she continued staring straight ahead. "Our legal system was made by white supremacist, slave owners. It's not broken. It's working exactly as it's supposed to." She said. "Have you been arrested for being black Jade?" Charles asked, pulling over a chair to sit behind Jake and Amy. "No shit." She snapped. "How old were you when you got arrested?" Jake asked, resting against the counter. "If I tell the story I'm just gonna freak Terry out more." Jade protested, finally looking up at the squad. "How?" Rosa said, leaning back against the pool table. "Cause I know what freaked Sarge out most. The fact the Cagney or Lacey could be walking down the street looking for their kids toy and get stopped by a bad cop, and they might not be able to play the police card to get outta trouble." Jade explained, looking predominantly at Terry, who nodded along. "Tell you're story J." He told her. Jade sighed. "How old were you?" Amy asked. "The first time or the second?" Jade replied, bitterly. An almost silent collective gasp rang around the room. "It happened more than once?" Jake said shocked. Jade nodded. "How old were you the first time?" Rosa asked, moving to sit next to Jade. "Fourteen." The squads eyes widened. "What- what happened?" Amy stuttered. "They thought I robbed a bodega." Jade said. "Usnavi's bodega." She added to Rosa. "I was walking back with whatever shit I'd got and some cop stopped me. Asked if I paid for the stuff which I said yes, I ain't no thief. Guy didn't believe me, asked me my name, ran it through the system, didn't believe, handcuffed me and threw me in the back of a cop car." Jade shrugged before continuing. "Took me to the precinct. Sent some other cop to the bodega, asked if they'd seen me and if I'd paid. Obviously they said yes so they had to let me go." Jade looked up at the squad to see them all slightly wide-eyed and slack-jawed. She rolled her eyes. "What about the second time?" Terry asked. "I was seventeen. Thought it was suspicious I was walking through Washington Heights after dark. I walked a friend home from senior studies. Nina." She told them, now looking at Rosa. "Asked where I was going, before I knew it I was handcuffed and pushed up against a cop car. Nina spotted me and told the cop I was walking her home. From then on her dad gave me a ride home if we had to stay late." Jade finished, resuming her stare at the floor. The squad looked at each other solemnly. "It's sucks that this shot still happens. Like after all these years." Jake said, finally breaking the silence. "Equal rights act was only enacted in 1964." Jade muttered. Terry nodded. "So sorry that happened to you Jade and you Terry." Amy told them both. "I don't need your pity." Jade snapped. An awkward silence fell over the group until a case came in and the group dispersed.
