"Fuck my life," said Eliza Aisling looking at her latest in a string of 89%s on tests. "One percent, that one goddamn percent."

"Oh, honey," said Marie beside her, "You could always ask you know who for help,"

"Elizabeth the second? But you know how I feel about the monarchy," said Eliza, and Marie hit her side, "But Riddle always gets so smug about helping people."

"You two were friends though, in first and second year?" Asked Marie,

"It's been years, three since he's spoken to me," said Eliza, "I swear, friend break ups are the childhood equivalent to real breakups,"

"They hurt so much more, are you kidding me?" Asked Marie, "Jack could break up with me tomorrow and after some ice cream and a super hot rebound I'd be fine, but if you left me, well the same thing only plus a new alcohol problem and throwing darts at a picture of you,"

"It means a lot to hear you say that," said Eliza, a hand to her heart,

"I also remember little third year you's face when you said hi to your friend Riddle and he didn't speak to you for the entire year," said Maria, "Did that make sense?"

"Literally anyone listening would have gotten very good exposition on the nature of my friendship with Riddle, so yeah, you said that right." Said Eliza, packing up her things in Transfiguration,

"Thank god, sometimes I think people can't understand my accent," said Marie,

"You're from Essex," said Eliza,

"Yeah, and we talk better than the others," said Marie, "Cuter than the others,"

"I understand you perfectly," said Eliza,

"Would you like a button?" Asked Marie as they walked from the class,

"Yeah, actually." Said Eliza, "Marie translator. That's what I can do for a living,"

"Oh I like that, you'd be like my emotional support animal," said Marie,

"I already am, or do you not feel supported enough?" Asked Eliza, "Damn I feel like a bra sales woman,"

Marie laughed, and they linked arms as they walked to the great hall for lunch,

"I got one with a bow on it, makes me feel like a princess under my bland uniform," said Marie,

"Interesting." Said Eliza, sitting down next to her, "Personally I feel really put together when my bra and my panties match,"

"Ugh I hate that word," said Marie, covering her ears,

"Match, match, match," said Eliza, tauntingly in her ear and Marie groaned,

"It's like someone from New Jersey saying March. It's just not right." Said Marie,

"Ah yes, little known fact, in America they used to skip March all together because of that very conundrum,"

"That is a great word." Said Marie, "Conundrum,"

"I know right, it's right up there with doppelgänger,"

"I always thought my doppelgänger was what's her face,"

"What's her face, that's a pretty name, is it French?" Asked Eliza,

"She was in the movie with that guy, she was beautiful and he was old and wrinkly," said Marie,

"Every movie Hollywood has produced save the ones with James Dean," said Eliza,

"Okay, time to play one two three I'm yours," said Marie as more people began filing into the great hall,
