Kangaroo Incident | Daniel Seavey

3rd person POV:

Corbyn, Daniel, Zach, Jack and Jonah walk around an Australian national park, following Evie and y/n who are showing them around. The guys are in Australia for a week, and they have 2 days to just have fun. Y/n and Evie are two 19 year old girls from Australia. Evie's a singer and y/n is an actress, and they've been best friends since they were younger. The guys met Evie through touring, and then met y/n through Evie. They're all quite close now.

"Do ya'll wanna go and see the kangaroos?" Evie calls out, looking over her shoulder back at the boys. They all jump up and run up to y/n and Evie, repeatedly yelling and screaming 'yes'.

The two girls laugh and continue walking down the path, before turning and entering the area with kangaroos. "Kangasss" Zach whispers, waddling over to a kangaroo to feed it kangaroo food. Corbyn stands next to a kangaroo and dances along to a song as Jonah records it on his phone. "Be careful, Corbyn." Y/n laughs, kindly feeding a younger kangaroo as it hops up to her.

Evie walks over to Jonah and takes his phone, before spamming his camera roll with photos of herself. "Here, have my phone." Jonah says sarcastically, photo bombing the pictures. Evie gives back his phone and shivers from the wind, considering she didn't bring a hoodie and it's quite cold. Jonah quickly takes off his jacket and puts it around Evie's shoulders, not wanting her to get sick.

"Thanks." Evie says, leaning into Jonah's side. "Daniel!" Y/n yells, seeing him near a grown male kangaroo that was standing up on it's hind legs with it's arms held up. Daniel just looks confusingly at y/n and doesn't move, before getting kicked over by the kangaroo. Daniel falls to the ground, hitting his head and knocking himself out.

"Daniel!" They all scream, Evie holding back everyone else so it doesn't further aggravate the kangaroo, as only y/n runs over to him. "Daniel." She whispers, kneeling down next to him to see if he's okay. "Can one of you call an ambo?!" She yells back at the others. "What's an ambo?" Zach yells.

"An ambulance, dumbass!" Y/n yells back, pulling Daniel up and laying his head in her lap. She checks his pulse just to be safe, but relaxes when she can clearly feel it.

*when ambulance arrives*

Daniel gets lifted into the ambulance, but since none of them are related to Daniel biologically, all the guys agree on letting y/n go with him.

"Are you sure? You guys are closer to him than I am." Y/n asks unsure. "Yes we're sure. You're probably the first person he'll look or ask for when he wakes up, anyways." Corbyn says, causing y/n to lightly blush at his statement. The two both have feelings for each other but don't know that it's mutual, despite their 5 year age difference. Neither of them really care though, as it's legal.

Y/n gets into the ambulance as the others start heading back to the bus, and the paramedic explains that he'll wake up in a little less than an hour or so, and will probably just have a headache from a minor concussion.

"He'll be okay, don't worry about it." The paramedic says, noticing y/n's knee bouncing up and down nervously. "Yeah I know, it was just scary I guess." Y/n replies kindly, relaxing her knee. "Yeah, I get it." The young lady says.

The ambulance parks at the hospital and they take Daniel's still unconscious self into the hospital, y/n following behind. She sits on a chair outside of the room Daniel is placed in where the nurses are checking him. She can't see him until he's awake, so she's stuck in the waiting room for now.

"He's awake." A nurse says about 20 minutes later, walking out of Daniel's room. Y/n jumps up out of her seat and walks into the room, seeing Daniel sitting up in the bed with a bandage wrapped around his forehead and drinking apple juice.

"You and your apple juice.." Y/n mumbles, sitting down on the edge of the hospital bed. "It heals me." He mumbles, putting down the apple juice. "How're you feeling?" Y/n asks, brushing his hair back with her fingers. "Fine. Why didn't you tell us that kangaroos are devils in disguise?" He pouts.

"I didn't think they'd get aggravated." Y/n chuckles, putting her hand back down in her lap. "Thank you." Daniel whispers, lightly holding y/n's hand. "For what?" She replies, a frown forming on her face. "I mean, you did come in the ambulance with me. The paramedic said you were silently freaking out. And just for everything you've done for me over the past 2 years." He says.

"It's no problem, really. And when someone who means so much to you gets drop-kicked by a kangaroo, you're going to be quite worried." Y/n says, laughing towards the end. "I mean so much to you?" Daniel whispers, observing my expressions. "Of course you do." Y/n replies, thinking about her definition of 'mean so much to me'.

"I never knew that." He chuckles, squeezing y/n's hands. She smiles lightly at him and looks down at their intertwined hands, tightening her grip. "You wanna know something?" He blurts, immediately regretting it. She hums in response, willing him to keep talking. He nervously plays with y/n's hand he's holding, before bravely speaking his mind,

"I love you." He blurts, looking for any kind of reaction on y/n's face. "Y-you what?" She stutters, not sure if she heard him correctly. "I love you." He says again, scared of what she might say next.

A smile makes it's way onto her face, letting out a sigh of relief and happiness. "I love you too." She breathes out, the same smile making its way onto Daniel's face.

He wastes no time in cupping y/n's jaw and bringing her face closer to his and crashing his lips onto her's, their lips moulding together perfectly. Y/n uses her arm to balance herself as they kiss passionately, before having to break apart for air.

"I've been waiting so long for that." Daniel whispers, pulling her back in again. Y/n chuckles and they kiss again, before being interrupted by someone clearing their throat at the door. They break apart and look over at the door, seeing all the guys and Evie standing in the doorway with either smiles or smirks plastered on their faces.

"About time." Evie says bluntly. Y/n just laughs and Daniel pulls her down next to him, and she cuddles into his side, resting her head on his chest. The boys and Evie come and sit next to the bed and talk to Daniel, y/n occasionally joining in on the conversation.

2 hours later a nurse walks in the room with Daniel's health files, looking up at y/n and Chloe with a smile as she puts down the clipboard. "You're free to go now, Mr Seavey. Just be wary of how fast you stand up and try not to hit your head on anything." She explains. "Thank you." Y/n and Daniel say, y/n helping Daniel up after she stands up.

The two walk behind the others and out the hospital doors, holding hands and small smiles on both of their faces.
