It's a nice sunny day in Florida, the perfect weather for Zach and Y/n's son's soccer game. The clattering of plates and cutlery from downstairs rings in y/n's ears, waking up from her sleep. She stretches and looks over to the closed window, the golden daylight shining through the curtains.

She gets up and slips on one of her husband's large t-shirts over her bike shorts, walking out of the room and downstairs. She walks into the kitchen to see Zach holding their youngest child, Sadie, on his hip as their eldest son Jake cuts up some strawberries and bananas.

Y/n and Zach are high school sweethearts, even though Zach dropped out. They maintained contact throughout his career and had many ups and downs, but got married a year ago and had 2 children. Sadie is 6 months old and Jake is 9. Y/n is best friends with all the other guys and they absolutely love her, knowing since they met her that the two are soulmates.

Zach turns around to walk to the stove to check on the pancakes, but makes eye contact with y/n leaning against the doorway. "Good morning" Zach chirps, walking over to y/n and lightly pecking her on the lips, handing Sadie over to her as she reaches out.

"Good morning, what's going on in here?" Y/n says, cooing at Sadie as Zach walks back over to the stove. "Well since Jake has a soccer game and I'm obviously the coach this morning and we felt like making you breakfast this morning, we all decided to make pancakes for you" he explains with a smile, tipping the cooked pancakes on a plate and handing it to Jake to put the fruit on.

"You're too sweet" y/n chuckles, gently placing Sadie down in a high chair and feeding her some fruit. Sadie's adorable giggle floods through the kitchen, and Zach looks over and makes eye contact with y/n, smiling wide.

"Give it to Sam, Josh!" Zach yells to the other boys on the soccer team, standing on the side line. Sam dribbles the ball down the field and scores a goal, the crowd erupting into loud cheers.

Zach turns around and looks at y/n standing in the bleachers, her sending him a wink. He winks back and laughs as the whole team runs over to him, seeing as it's the end of the game, and he beckons y/n and Sadie over.

"Good job boys! You all did great" y/n says excitedly, earning proud smiles on the kids' faces. All the kids know and love y/n, practically because she will always bring oranges and energising foods every game.

"Thank you mum" Jake smiles, leaning into y/n's side as she pulls her in closer while holding Sadie on her hip. The rest of the team players start to leave with their parents and Jake wonders off to the playground with Sadie.

"I love you" Zach mumbles into her hair, wrapping his arms around her waist and leaving a soft kiss on her neck. "I love you too. How about we head home? I'll make you and Jake the salad you both love" y/n offers, resting her chin on his chest and looking up into his warm, chocolate brown eyes.

"Hell yes" he says hurriedly, grabbing the soccer equipment and quickly stuffing it into the bags, before taking it to the car. Y/n collects Sadie and Jake from the playground and Zach hurriedly grabs onto her and Jake's hand, pulling them all along to the car.

"Why are you in such a hurry, dad?" Jake asks confusingly. "Your mum said that she'll make us her famous salad for lunch if we leave now, and I don't know about you but I really want that salad" Zach explains as he starts up the car, throwing his arm across the back of y/n's seat and looking behind to reverse out of the car park.

They park in the driveway and Zach carefully gets Sadie out of her booster seat, bringing her inside and closing the door behind him.

He walks into the kitchen to see y/n putting croutons in the oven, then leaning against the counter. He walks up to her and leans his front against her, resting his forehead against her's. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me, you know that?" He whispers, caressing her cheek with his soft and warm hand.

"I didn't, but you're the best thing thats ever happened to me too" y/n smiles back, leaning in and kissing his soft lips. Their lips mould together and move in sync, Zach gently pushing her firmer against the counter top.

"Ew!" Jake screeches as he walks into the kitchen, running back out and making gagging noises. Y/n and Zach pull away laughing. "Oops" y/n chuckles, before jokingly pushing Zach away and going back to the salad.

"That was gross" Jake says walking back into the kitchen. "Oh relax, bud. You wait until you get a girlfriend and get married, then you won't be complaining" Zach teases, winking at Jake and walking out. Jake fake gags and y/n laughs, seeing the grossed-out look on his face.

"He's not wrong" she shrugs. "This family is weird as" he mumbles, walking out and heading up to his room. God she loves this family
