Selling the market? Ain't no way.
He never really dreamed of becoming a butcher, wasn't what he drew pictures of in preschool, but he loved his job. Loved getting paid to hunt and damn right he took pride in how he prepared his product. Ain't never had anything in his life to be proud of , but this? No he wasn't losing this.
" now before y'all freak out , I don't know about your jobs, I haven't talked to Hershel about what he plans on doing but I'm sure he'd be fine keeping most of you."
Most of us? Where did he come off?
It was rick who spoke up first " is the man coming to see the market?"
" he'll be here today in a couple hours, y'all need to show him how you work, maybe he'll wanna keep you if he sees how good you all are." Shane smiled brightly
Bastard was probably making a pretty penny for selling out. That's how Shane was though didn't think about no one but himself.
Daryl didn't care he didn't have to prove himself to no one this was his butchers block and he wasn't giving it up, they'd have to drag him out after he set the place on fire.
A few hours later and he heard the mumbling , watched Lori adjust her flower bouquets for the fiftieth time, Tyreese had decided today would be a perfect day to finish off painting the walls and Eugene was covered in pasta sauce. He saw them then. He was immediately taken aback by the older man with the powder white hair and thick beard , to his right was a beautiful brunette with a heavy smile but a stubborn glint to her eyes. He could've sworn Shane said there were two daughters , and what was that flash of blonde behind the old man?
Shane's obnoxious voice called out for his employees and Daryl made his way to the front of the store holding his chin up and wiping the pigs blood on his apron . Here we go.
As they all gathered Daryl's trained eyes watched Hershel turn around a few times and finally turn back he wore a soft yet stern smile and for some reason it comforted Daryl.
the older man named Hershel straightened up and nudged the brunette gently with a smirk.
" hello I would like to start this meeting off by saying you've all no reason to worry your jobs are by no means in any harm, you will remain in your positions as long as you keep acting as you always do" he smiled at the visible relief and Daryl knew if he hadn't been so aware he would have let out the berth he had been holding.
"I would like to introduce myself , my name is Hershel Greene and I bought this market after finding out shane wanted to get rid of it, this is my oldest Daughter Maggie Greene."
Maggie stepped up and offered a wave "hello y'all m'maggie and I'm real excited to work with y'all , I'm gunna be in charge of the garden out front" everyone looked to Glenn who was practically drooling over maggie and it didn't seem that he had a problem sharing his garden.
Hershel smiled "and this is my youngest daughter Bethany Greene"
Hershel stepped aside revealing the person in question.
Daryl swore he couldn't breathe at that moment
" Its actually Beth, nice to meet y'all"
