He was drunk.
Not sloppy or wasted just drunk.
He clearly was not good at this game.
"Okay, okay, never have I ever eaten a squirrel!" She hiccuped letting out the most amused giggle.
Tipsy she had said when he'd accused her of being sloshed."Daryl Dixon ladies do not get drunk ladies get tipsy. And I'm hardly even that. Still got seven fingers up." She waggled her fingers in his face before he grabbed them and pretended to nip at them. Making her squeal and snatch her hand back smiling.
What? Liquor made him saucy.
Her pupils were nice and wide and her ponytail was half out of that dark rubber band. But the best part was the soft pout she wore at his reluctance to drink his punishment. Her glossy lips were heart shaped and smelled like strawberries. He ain't never seen a girl so damn pretty in his whole life.
"Drink up Daryl, those are the rules, ya gotta do it."
He grumbled something about her being a cheat. Before taking a long swig.
"Alright it's my turn, never have I ever had a boyfriend" he smirked
"Oh dirty move Dixon." She laughed shooting him another pout.
She downed the rest of her mason jar and moved to grab his empty jar before rinsing them out in his sink and placing them gently in the cupboard.
" well I feel much better" she smiled swaying gently before leaning back against the counter.
He smiled before he noticed the time
12:45
"Shit" he mumbled "Beth it's past midnight and there ain't no way you can drive home like this for a few hours."
"S'fine I'll call daddy, tell him I won't be home tonight." She reassured him
He immediately stilled. Stay here? In his house? For the night?
She noticed his change in mood.
"Or I could just call jimmy to come pick me up he's daddy's farmhand, told me If I ever needed anything to call him." She slurred slightly before pulling out her cellphone. He was quick to grab for her cellphone
"No. No you don't have to do that. Reckon you'll sleep in the bed I'll sleep on the couch just outside the door."
He didn't want to think of a drunk Beth getting in a car with any man except him. Specially some farmhand her own age. Not on his watch.
"Oh no I couldn't do that it ain't right"
"Sure can and sure will."
She looked down and smiled a bit.
"Think I can get a shower with this deal too? " she smirked
The thought of Beth Greene naked in his shower was a little too much to think of with her standing right there.
"Sureyeahtowelsinthecloset" he rushed out
She raised her eyebrow before nodding and thanking him.
He was just setting up the couch and laying Beth out one of his flannels and his smallest pair of sweat pants , when he heard it.
It was quiet, almost drowned out by the shower but as he walked closer to the door he heard it clear
" And we'll buy a beer to shotgun, and well lay on the lawn , and well be good."
The clear and crisp melodic quality of her voice was gorgeous.
He had his ear nearly pressed flush up against the door as he closed his eyes taking in the song
"You don't wanna be my boyfriend, and I don't wanna be your girl, and that, that's a relief , well drink up our grief and pine for summer."
It seemed he found something absolutely amazing and new about the blonde currently occupying his shower.
One thing however never changed. He was in deep shit.
