He'd never seen an angel, hadn't even ever been to church, he did however remember the book he'd stolen from the library about baby Jesus and the angel Gabriel.
He'd call you a dirty liar if you said Beth Greene was anything but kin to the angel Gabriel.
She was perfect, hard as he tried he couldn't find one thing wrong with her.
long blonde hair set atop her head in a mess of curls. Her hair was glowing almost as bright as her tan almost olive complexion, her button nose was perfect in contrast to the heart shape of her face and those lips he didn't think you could have lips that pink without that trashy lipstick his mama used to wear when she went out at night. But her eyes struck him first big blue gems not tarnished by any eyeliner or shadow gunk just caped by long thick lashes. Of course he noticed her body too. long tan legs sticking out of worn out cowboy boots and covered by a simple yellow summer dress that went about mid thigh.
She was small couldn't weigh more than a buck five but she was perfectly petite.
So you see you couldn't blame him for staring, it's not everyday you see a real life angel.
"I'm , well I'm gunna be takin over that there bakery.. If that's alright with y'all"
Nothing turned Daryl Dixon on more than a proper southern twang.
Hershel placed a reassuring hand on his youngests shoulder
"Bethy can be a bit shy but she's one of the best bakers around the county won 6 blue ribbons for her apple pie and makes a mean cupcake"
Daryl noticed the way she blushed furiously and went to go stand behind her daddy again.
"Anyway I just want y'all to know me and my girls plan on playing a very active roll in this market" Hershel stated sending a pointed glance in Shane's direction
"Well be here everyday and if anyone needs anything you don't hesitate to let me or any of us know y'hear?"
Daryl looked around and noticed something in his little family he hadn't seen in a long time.
Hope.
As he watched Beth walk towards him with the sweetest smile he'd ever seen, he wiped his hands clean once more a stuck out a dirty rough hand.
She placed her small delicate hand in his and he ain't never felt something so soft.
"Daryl Dixon" he choked out before replying with a more confident gruff "Butcher"
She smiled that soft smile again "Beth Greene."
"Baker"
