Ashley finished off the shipment procedure and came out of the airport.

It has been a long busy month for her. After submitting the paper and publishing her works in a famous medical journal she finally decided to sit down with the authority and terminate her contract.

They wanted her to renew the contract for some years more, but she realized it was the right time to go back to her home.
Technically She couldn't terminate the contract before due time, but she agreed to it in the first place knowing it gave her the right to terminate it whenever the work is done.

And just now she finished shipping her belongings to her country. Those weren't much, just some paintings, her books, and some of this or that.

She was not planning on immediately jump into another job, rather she decided to take the rest of the year off from work and start anew the next year.

Maya took time to answer the phone.

"At least somebody remembered that someone exists!!"

"How have you been Maya?"

"Still alive," she answered, "what about you? Killed anyone yet?"

Ashley laughed, "Just finished with the contract."

"Yes, I have read your journal," she answered excitedly.
" Though I have no idea what those shits were all about."

"Oh come on! You are a doctor too, at least used to be!" Ashley teased.

"Nah, you were born for this. I am a seaman. No, sea woman. I should have been born as a pirate for sure," she replied.

"Where are you now? On water mare?" Ashley asked.

"Where else would I be?" said Maya.

The last time Ashley spoke to her, she was on a research vessel called "water mare" studying the environmental changes in the ecosystem and food chain of the deep sea.

"But the ship needed some maintenance and servicing, and crews needed little land times. So we are now anchoring in the Mediterranean."

"Mediterranean... What are you doing there?" asked Ashley, immediately starting to have a plan.

"Sightseeing. We are free until the ship set for the northern Atlantic."

"Sightseeing, where?" Ashley tried not to act so obvious.

"Malta, Gozo."

"Well, lucky you!" Ashley exclaimed.

After another five minutes of chitchat, Maya hung up.

Ashley sighted. Yeah, it's decided. She is going to the Mediterranean. Let's start there.

[ Hey guys, I know it's a short update..... But things had been very hectic for me these days as I have been working as a volunteer in corona units in the hospital.
But remaining in isolation, it has been really fun killing some time writing and reading your stories when I am off work.
