Eve-Anne stood by the doorway, hiding within a facade of shadows as she watched Susanna open the door to K, on his own this time.
"M wants me to give you this." He said, as he took a memory stick out of his pocket and gave it to her. "It's got information that no one can know on it."
Susanna took it, and nodded her head slightly.
"How's the blood processing doing?" Susanna asked.
"Labs found some anomalies, but a technical error got the samples destroyed. You know what the labs like?" K said. "We'll have to send another sample tomorrow, we're lucky I like to take more samples than everyone else." He sighed, and put his hands back in his pockets.
"Alright, cya at work." He turned, and Susanna shut the door.
Eve-Anne turned around, and shifted through the draws, she pulled out a thick black scarf. That could work well enough.
Perhaps this wasn't the best idea, maybe it was more dangerous than worth, but lately everything has been falling apart.
Eve-Anne wasn't in control anymore, it was unpredictable, it was scary. She could hurt someone again and not mean to. It could be a complete accident. She could hear everything still. Feel everything, and it just got worse as time passed.
From her sister's wardrobe, she took a black hoodie which had fingerless gloves attached, not much use when there was piles of snow littering the outside but she supposed it was an aesthetic thing.
It was starting to get dark outside, but Jessica wasn't home yet, which was a recurring thing lately.
Eve-Anne switched on her computer and browsed the news section.
'Jallen Constance found dead, White Rose found.' That wasn't even the latest one, but he was an interesting one.
The news really just relayed just what Eve-Anne knew, except one piece.
When her eyes landed on the article, she stared for a second.
'Country rallies for release of Zachary Farmer.'
Slightly odd, the last she'd heard about him the public wanted him put away for good. Even though their decision was clearly made for them by an attempt by the government to dissuade vigilantes. Perhaps this could be her chance to scare the media, properly this time.
It was 9:30 now, she switched off the computer.
Jessica still wasn't back. Eve-Anne would have to risk it.
Quietly, she unhooked the lock on the window, and pushed it against the wind. It was too strong.
She closed her eyes, and laid her hand on the window. For a second, nothing happened, but then it near silently slid open. Eve-Anne sighed, in relief, and pulled the hoodie on, and a pair of leather gloves which Jessica had left on a bedside cabinet.
She hopped out of the window, and fell down gently onto the snow outside.
Eve-Anne looked at her hand, the ring finger of the glove fell in a funny way where the finger was missing.
She shoved it into the pocket with a slight anger.
