The hall which the police had made their headquarters stood still, and silent as snow draped over its slated roof. Layers fell around Eve-Anne as she dragged her feet through the light snow.
She tied her scarf around her face, obscuring half of it, partly to keep warm enough, partly to hide her identity as much as she could.
Eve-Anne shivered, and the lights flickered a little. She knew she had to learn more control over abilities again. The lights flicked off, leaving her in more darkness than before.
She stepped forward, listening to the soft snow crunch beneath her feet, as she kept on, now trying to find the door.
She ran her hands over the plasticy cover of the door, and laid her hand on the lock. It made a little click, and gently glided open.
Eve-Anne stepped in, and looked around. She had been here before, but never allowed in the freezer.
It looked almost like every other room, except with a different door, presumably to keep the cold in.
She tapped in the door code, it was easy to figure out, and it released a burst of air.
The freezer was nearly empty except some bags with weird liquids in, and what looked like food supplies which read 'Far's DO NOT touch or you will be eliminated'. Strangely enough, there were the perfect ingredients to make pancakes, including the syrup.
At the back were some racks, which contained a multitude of empty bags, a few had little containers in, and one had a red liquid in. That one had to be it.
She unhooked it from the rack, and slipped it into her pocket.
After a final look around, Eve-Anne left, and shut the door quietly to the freezer.
"So my scoping of the freezer was useful." A voice said behind her. It was K.
Eve-Anne turned around.
K leant on a table and had an unsettling glint in his eyes. His usually neat and gelled blonde hair was ruffled a little, but somehow he still looked annoyingly perfect.
"I have loads of questions, but first I'm gonna have to arrest you." He said as if this was an everyday occurrence.
"I'm afraid I can't let you do that." Eve-Anne changed her voice a little. She stepped forward, taking note of the surrounding routes of exit.
"What are you going to do then?" He questioned, raising a nearly non-existent eyebrow
"Walk out of here." She stepped forward, shrugging her shoulders a little, and tried to push him over a little with a swift flick of her hand, but it didn't work.
"Not giving up without a fight?" He said with a slight glee in his tone, as he shifted his feet into a fighting stance.
"Fighting isn't really for me, but maybe you'd like something to practise with?" She said, slightly sarcastically, as she threw a glass jar at him. He raised his arms, and covered his face and quickly shifted into a defensive position. The glass shattered against his arms with force, causing him to crash against a window behind him and his footwork slipped slightly in the moment. The window broke behind him, and he slipped out against the snow.
