I kissed him before he could say anything else.

NOW

I have to stay in the hospital for a couple of days since I had head trauma and they didnt want me to have another accident.

Mateo and Derek visited every day, staying the night but going home and coming back in new clothes. But every time that Derek came back he would bring flowers, each day a new bouquet with a new type of flower. It was really sweet, Derek was the nicest and the sweetest. I felt those same butterflies that I felt with him before all of this happened.

y/n- Derek, you honestly dont have to do this every time, I said pointing out all the flowers that were in vases

D- Alessya, let me show you how much you mean to me

y/n- you dont have to prove anything,

D- Alessya, I want to. I messed up before, you dont know how thankful I am, that you want to try this again

y/n- I never stopped loving you, I just couldn't see past it

y/n- Derek, you know every time that I saw you, all I could see is you and her kissing, having a family. Thinking what I did wrong, what I was missing. Why I couldn't keep you entertained, why I wasn't good enough for you? I was wishing that I looked like her, hoping you would feel the same way you did about her with me.

Derek's POV-

y/n- ... I was wishing that I looked like her, hoping you would feel the same way you did about her with me.

I couldn't look her in the eyes, I didnt know that I messed her up that bad. 

Fuck, I really messed her up, I thought I was just another guy that was in her life. I just wanted to go back in time and take everything back, I just wanna be the best man I could've been to her. But I can't go back.

D- Alessya, I know that I cant go back in time and change things, but I wanna be the best man that I could be. I wanna promise that I am not going to hurt you again, that I will never take you for granted.

She looked happy but she didnt believe me. Not one bit. But I meant it ALL.

y/n- Derek, you can't make that promise

D- why not?

y/n- you know that you can't promise that you aren't going to hurt me again, I know that you might think that you won't take me for granted right now, but in a couple of months maybe weeks, you will find someone else and leave me. It's okay, this is what always happens. 

D- Alessya, I dont think you understand how much I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.

y/n- Derek, stop, just stop, you dont understand that we are still young and stupid, for god's sake im 17 and I have a whole kid. You dont want a life with me, I am such a screw-up. 

D- you arent a screw-up,

y/n- Derek, dont get my hopes up thinking that you are going to stay, then once I warm up to you, I mess it up then they all just leave. Its a cycle.

D- Alessya, I love you and nothing is going to change that. I dont care that Mateo isn't my kid, Im still going to love him like he is. He doesn't have a father figure, I want to be his father figure only if you want me too. I love you and him. I dont care about any of those girls that are out there, you, Alessya, you are the only person I want. I want you to be mine, only mine.

y/n's POV

he is just going to leave just like the rest of them. I always mess it up, it's too good to be true.

y/n- Dere-

D- You dont have to answer right now. I just needed to get that off my chest. Alessya you wanna know the truth about all of it. 

She just looking at me anxiously.

D- I was, I am in love with you. When we first were together, you made me feel a way that no other girl made me feel. Then I messed up with that waitress, I thought that you were getting bored of me. Then you met Devin, I thought that you were so happy. You dont know how many nights I stayed up thinking about you and him. It disgusted me, seeing you with another guy. I stayed up every night wishing that it was me waking up with you every morning. I completely broke down when I heard you had a kid. I didnt even invite Vereena over, she came over looking for you. I told her that you left, then she kissed me. That's when she showed up.

D- I would never NEVER get with Vereena, I just wanted you to be happy and clearly it wasn't with me. 

He was crying, I slowly got up while he was talking.

I walked up to him and just hugged him, I wanted to cry, happy tears. 

y/n- I didnt know you cared that much about me.

I just looked into his eyes, his beautiful brown eyes, we just stayed there looking at each other in the eyes. Then we were interrupted by my phone ringing. I walked over there, I picked up the phone it was from the police department. My face completely changed expressions. I hung up.
