She woke alone in a train car and heard the rain falling around her.
"Dad!?" she cried. No other sounds emerged as she lay still, listening. It was just rain. Cassia looked around her, noticing she was in her old bed. She sat up, straining to keep her eyes open, trying to figure out what was going on. That's when she caught a glimpse of something. Two people stood outside the train. One was her mother. The other had dark curly hair and a thick build, almost obese from the looks of it. She threw her legs over the side of the bed to see if she could get closer.
"Cass? Cass, what are you doing?" Cass stopped at the end of her bed and saw Hoseok standing only a few feet from her. She smiled at him, but he didn't smile back. Why didn't he smile back?
"What's wrong, Hobi?" she asked forgetting about the situation outside.
"You, that's what's wrong." Hoseok's voice came off crass and hurtful. His face contorted into something almost sinister. She had never seen this side of him before.
"Wh-what did I do? Hoseok, please." She reached out for him and he recoiled from her touch.
"You make me sick. How could you let that man touch you!?" Tears started spilling down her face, as she fell to her knees, covering herself.
Cassia sat straight up in bed, sweat pooling on her forehead and temples. Hoseok sat up just as quickly as he felt her leave his side.
"Cass? Cass, what's wrong?" He turned her face to him and looked her in the eyes. Before she let herself cry, she threw her arms around Hoseok's neck and buried her face in his shoulder. She hugged him as tight as she could. He knew from the past she had had a bad dream. So he just silently sat there and held her until she could breathe again.
Once her eyes began to get heavy, Hoseok gently laid her back on the bed and positioned his arm underneath her, pulling her to him. He didn't sleep the rest of the night, but instead stayed awake to make sure she slept peacefully.
***********
Two weeks had passed since Cassia had spoken to her dad. She had gotten through some very tough days, mentally. Some were easier than others, as Hoseok was there with her. He wasn't always there though, and she had to learn how to be okay without him. Luckily little brothers were good for distraction.
"So the last couple of weeks you've been mentioning having a sort of flash back type episode. And you said these started....." Dr. Park flipped back through his notes, trying to refresh his mind. "Right after your first visit here?" Cassia modded. "Have you remembered anything else other than what you've told me before?" Cassia contemplated telling him about the dream she had a couple of nights previous. He caught her thinking and could tell she wasn't telling him everything. He bent over to look at her downturned eyes.
"Cass, I cannot help you if you don't tell me everything." Dr. Park leaned back in his chair and waited for Cassia to talk.
She started off with waking up in the train car and hearing the rain. She mentioned seeing her mother and the other person outside the train car window, but she couldn't hear them. She told him the first person she called for was her dad, so she believed that it was an extension of her other flash backs, where she thought she was younger. However, she was full grown and Hoseok was there. She managed to tell him the ending without full out crying, but her eyes did swell a bit. There was a long moment of quiet as they sat there. Cassia looked at Dr. Park and Dr. Park looked off into the distance, thinking earnestly.
"Do you know why Hoseok acted the way he did in your dream?" Dr. Park continued to stare at the wall.
"Why?" Cassia thought he knew the answer.
