Chapter 3 - Leeds/ Hotel:
We pushed past the crowd as we headed inside and through the train station. There were various different shops and newsagents, selling drinks, snacks, magazines, books and gifts to take back home for people.
Apparently, so people had told us, the O2 academy wasn't far from where we were staying, the Premier Inn. Which, in all honesty, wasn't bad at all. Quite comfortable really.
As we hurried out of the train station, I looked around me at my surroundings.
Leeds had a hell of a lot of buildings, some with old structure and some with new structure. Some buildings remained sturdy while others looked like they could crumble at any point.
The streets weren't that busy and crowded, but I guessed this was because it was around 11am. It was odd how uncrowded it was. There was a few people dotted around but there weren't masses yet. I expected this was probably change tonight, for the concert.
'Let's get a taxi,' was my Mum's suggestion.
So that was what we did in the end.
We headed over to a taxi rank, this taxi rank worked slightly different than I was used to.
There was a shelter we could sit under. Everyone had to queue in a line, as the taxi's would come round in a circle, getting into a taxi each in turn. Instead of going up and grabbing them freely.
As I got into the taxi, I heard murmurs of conversation. Morgan soon joined me in the back, on her phone... again.
I just shrugged, I decided to keep my rucksack with me instead of putting it into the boot like the other bags.
We spent around 5 minutes in the taxi, before getting out to go and check into our premier inn room.
Me and Morgan stood there quietly. I was 15 and she was 14. We both looked a hell of a lot older than we were. Especially Morgan with her black lipstick and eyeliner.
I chuckled to myself.
'What's the name?' I heard the woman at the counter ask, her long blonde hair was tied back into a ponytail. She was wearing a dark purple top with the Premier Inn logo on, and also jeans from what I could see.
'Louise, right?' She asked
'Yeah, that's right,' my Mum gave a reply.
'And what are their ages?' She asked again
'14 and 15,'
To this, the woman nodded, 'Your rooms aren't ready just yet but we can take your luggage up their for you now?' The woman offers, peering at her badge, I learned her name was Natalie.
My Mum nodded her thanks and then we walked back out again.
The cold air hit me immediately, once again, I was thankful for my hoodie and it's long sleeves I could snuggle up in!
~
After a while of walking round, the crowds and masses of people were beginning to form.
'Food?' My Mum and Georgina looked at us both.
We both just nodded. God, I knew I was hungry, all I really had on the train was Skittles if I was honest. But then again, I wasn't hungry on the train!
Luckily, we found a local restaurant/pub that looked quite nice.
As we walked in, I looked around, taking everything in. There were various posters on the wall, some were just ripped flyers, or posters that were beginning to fray.
The tables and chairs were made of a dark chocolate brown oak, so I suspected. I didn't know many types of wood.
Me and Morgan sat at the table, whilst my Mum and Georgina went to get the drinks, we all had cokes so it wasn't that complicated of an order.
The bar was absolutely packed with guys of all different ages, mainly older men holding beers and standing around in small groups of threes or fours.
Watching my Mum and Georgina come back, they placed all the drinks on the table, I immediately took a sip of mine, but I wasn't as thirsty as Morgan, who took a massive gulp of hers.
'What do you want food-wise guys?" Louise asked, handing us all a menu.
'Chicken tikka masala please,' I said automatically, I loved Indian food, especially curry. Well, anything spicy.
'I'll just have a burger,' Georgina and Morgan said together.
I laughed under my breath.
'I'll have the sweet chili and pepper soup,' my Mum informed us, going up to order again.
~
After we'd eaten, we headed back to our Premier Inn room, which was now ready for us. We just needed to go to the desk to get our key.
'Room 104, you'll up on the top floor. You can take either the stairs or the lift. But the lift requires your key card,' She explained.
We all headed immediately to the lift and pressed the button to the top floor.
As the doors opened, we headed down the twisting corridors, to eventually find our room.
Scanning the key, we headed inside.
The room overall was quite big, there was a double bed and two single beds. A simple wardrobe with a mirror on the front, a chest of drawers was opposite the bed and ontop of that was a large TV, not that we'd be watching much TV tonight.
The bathroom was simple, a sink, a toilet and a shower.
That was when I realized the time, it was 4pm.
Time to get ready for the concert.
