Chapter 11 - Offer:

Hannah's POV:

"Wait... so let me get this straight, that sexy male friend of yours is in a band?' Amy asked inquisitively.

'He isn't....' I trailed off awkwardly,  my cheeks hot.

'Yeah, he's in a band,' I add quickly.

Brushing my hair out of my eyes, I glanced around me.  Was it just me or had Claire's and the town center got overly crowded, even so than usual?

'C'mon,' Amy muttered from near me, her blonde hair falling gracefully over her shoulders, graceful was the last thing I was.  I didn't protest as she pulled me along.

'How's that open mic stuff going?' Amy asked.

'Yeah, it's going alright I guess, I have a gig tonight,'

'Whereabouts?'

'Camden,'

Amy just nodded,  she didn't agree with me going out to pubs on my own and performing, even though it was just cover stuff,  she was slightly... okay, very overprotective.

'How's that part-time job going?' I asked, interested.

'It's alright... I mean, the work's cool... it's a bookstore so,' She shrugged.

I just nodded, 'I should call a taxi,'  I replied.

'Sure you don't want a lift?' She asked, twirling her car keys in her hands.

'Nah it's cool,' I reply, walking over to a big, black and sleek looking vehicle already,  with the word 'Taxi' on the top, in white and black block capitals.  I slipped into the backseat quickly.

'Where to?' I got asked,  by a really deep and husky voice.

'54 Steelman road,' I reply,  that was my address.  What a day.   Personally,  I couldn't wait to get home  and rest up before I had to go out again to the Open Mic session at one of the local pubs.  They were expecting me, couldn't be avoided.

I just hoped it would go okay.

***

Getting out of the bath, which was quite relaxing; I reached for the lush lilac gown hanging up on the door,  brushing my teeth and washing my face.

Going back into my bedroom,  I flicked endlessly through my wardrobe trying to find something to wear, that was difficult.
I mean what the hell do you wear to an Open Mic gig?

I should know by now what to wear, but every night's venue was different.

Groaning, I settled for an 'Asking Alexandria' band top, black leggings and converse.  Casual, but still slightly dressy.

The clock ticked away quicker than before.

It was time.

Oh god.

~

I strolled into the bar casually,  trying to appear confident, but not over confident.

Grabbing a coke before my session started, I decided i'd sit down and have a listen to, what I deemed as, the competition.

There was one girl before me around 15,  the time that I personally started getting into metal, wanting to be in a metal band.  I got told that I probably wouldn't be able to do it, unless i got singing lessons, as I normally sung from my head and not my chest.

The 15- year old sung Ed Sheeran happily, oblivious to other people.  God I wish I could have had her confidence.

Then it was my turn.

I got onto the stage shakily,  grabbing the microphone as my whole body tensed, as it always did whenever I went on stage.

The familiar music started and I sung.

'You pull the trigger just for fun, forgetting I'm a loaded gun..'

People glanced up from their phones, to actually pay attention to me, unlike the other groups before me.

'So hate me for the things I've done, but not for what I've now become...'

There was a guy in the corner looking at me intently as everyone was cheering and clapping.  I eventually reached the chorus:

'Crawling from hell, falling from grace and there was nothing left to take.  Driving a nail, through my  mistakes, so we can Reincarnate...'

Finishing the song, the crowd went absolutely crazy, whooping, cheering,  clapping.  I don't think I'd ever got this good of a reaction before.

'Hannah right?' A voice brought me out of my train of thought.

'Yeah....' I trail off.

'I'd like to offer you a place in Fearless Records.'

My jaw dropped.  I was getting signed?
