Chapter 15 - Losses:

I bit my lip nervously, looking around at my new band mates. I gave a slight smile and a wave.

'Hannah will be your new lead singer,' My manager explained, well, our manager, as we were all in a band together now.

The others nodded at me and smiled. A guy and a girl came up to me, they both looked very similar. Twins maybe? It seemed that way.

'This is Sam and I'm Veronica!" Veronica squealed, flicking a stray piece of dark purple hair out of her face, gesturing to her slightly older brother Sam. Instead of dark purple hair, Sam had chocolate brown hair, but they both had the same coloured eyes.

'What d'you play?' I asked curiously.

'I play the drums.' She explained.

'I play lead guitar,' Sam chimed in, throwing a wink my way. I just chuckled to myself in response.

'Sam! Behave!' Veronica scolded. Sam only rolled his eyes.

I looked round at the rest of them, as they all introduced themselves.

By the end of the introductions, I had learnt that a girl named Jessica played Bass Guitar. Jessica was quite tall and had long blonde hair, much like Amy in that respect, who, I reminded myself, I needed to text later, to let her know how I was getting on.

A guy named Nathan was my back-up vocals, he had emerald green eyes and long brown hair that had slight curls in places and finally, a guy named David played the Rythm Guitar.

'So, you sing?' Nathan asked me.

'Yeah,' I replied.

'Can you sing us something?' He asked with a slight smile on his face.

'I guess so,' I bit my lip, hesitating.

Veronica came over and stood next to me, she glanced up at me, 'C'mon Hannah, it's okay, it's only us,'

I opened my mouth and for the first time no words came out. Taking a deep breath, I tried again, singing 'Champagne Supernova' by Oasis.

I eventually finished singing, earning a massive round of applause from my new bandmates.

'That was awesome!' Nathan and Veronica grinned.

'Let's start working on some song material, yeah?' Our manager chimed in.

***At around 3pm, we finished reheresals, apparently our manager had a tour booked for us soon or something. We didn't know with what bands or details like that yet. What if someone couldn't do one of the dates?

That was when Jake called me,

'Hello?' I said into the phone.

'Babe,' he greeted.

'What's up? I literally just got out of band rehersals.' I sighed

'I don't think I can be with you anymore,'

'Whatever,' I rolled my eyes.

I hung up the phone and I felt better than I had done in a long time. To hell with it. If he was through with me, I was through with him. At least I could focus on my band work now.

As I headed out the studio doors, I beamed.

What a day.
