Alex Kincaid's P.O.V

I'm parked just outside the woods that lead to Bradlington High, Dr Whitewood has told me everything about the Wolfbloods in Stoneybridge and this is our first step to gathering all the evidence that we need.

"Alex, are you parked up where I told you?" Whitewood's voice is coming through my phone.

"I am, yes. Now, tell me about this Rhydian Morris boy, what do you know?"

"Well, he's Wolfblood and he is friends with our two visitors who'll be coming soon; Tom and Shannon."

"What do they look like?"

"Rhydian is tall and blonde, that's what you need to know most right now. As for Shannon and Tom, you'll meet them when they come visit Segolia."

She's done enough for now, I hang up and wait for a sign; Rhydian's been running off wild, Whitewood has seen it for herself and with a stroke of luck I'll probably see our wolf come running right towards me... any minute now.

Rhydian's P.O.V

She's nowhere to be seen. Everywhere I look, when I use Eolas, even my own sense of smell; no luck. What if she's miles away right now? even if I can't stop, I can't let her suffer the way I did:

I was a lone wolf, like she is now; no family, no one to trust and no understanding of anything. Maddy changed all of that for me, because of her I found a family and a place where I belong, now it's my turn to do the same for her, otherwise what good would I be to the Maddy Smith I remember?

"You can stop trying to find us now."

The voice came from behind, when I turn to see what it was, it's her. She's standing looking at me with revulsion and discomfort. Nothing that I do now can save her, but that doesn't mean I can't try and get through to her.

"Everything's gonna be fine Maddy, just come with me and I'll help you."

"Go away! I'm not going anywhere with you, and stop calling me Maddy, you're a stranger to me."

"Maddy, if you can remember Tom and Shannon then just stop and think, try to remember who I am. I know that you can do this, I was in the same position as you were once: I had no pack, no family and no one to rely on, you changed that for me, you helped me find my pack and a place that I belong to and you know me better than anyone, just as I do for you and I'm not going to stop this until you come back to me."

My words have convinced her a little, she has closed her eyes, probably searching her mind for the truth and for her memories; come on Maddy I can't do anything right without you. Her eyes open, she looks upset and seems sorry for me, she must remember.

"Wow, you really were alone." she spoke with sympathy, I knew she could do it.

"Pathetic. You still are, and you're just using me to account for all of that because the same goes for me, I can't think of any worse reason."

Her words are like bullets of a gun pushing themselves into my skin, blood abandones my body and I feel poisoned by the toxic burning of the metal thats trapped within me. I have to keep trying, I'm not going to lose her again.

"Maddy..." I try my best to fight back against the fast approaching tears.

"Come and get me if you're so desperate." she runs off.

"This isn't you Maddy, please stop messing with me, be the one I know that you are, don't leave me."

I fall to my knees, sink to the ground and breathe heavily; she's gone, again. There's nothing left of her now- me either, without her- and she'll probably never get her memories back and I'll never get her back too. What is there for me now? whatever can I do with myself, with my life or my pack.
